I've never lost a pet before. My oldest cat is 15 so I've thought very hard about this. I can't stand the thought of being away from her so the only option is to cremate her and put her ashes in an urn in the house. Maybe one day I can spread her ashes in a spot she would have loved or maybe I will have her buried with me. I can't decide that until much later.

If this was a pet that I had for a very long time that I was attached to I would just bury it in the back yard, but I would find a nice box or small chest and put it in there with it's favorite toy and some pictures of me and the pet. Then I would plant some flowers over the grave and make a plack out of some wood.

My dog died last year and we cremated it and we have the ashes in my house. We have her picture with it also. We had so much love for her and still do.

My dad wanted to get it stuffed, he said that years before she passed. I think he was joking, He loved her so much and we wanted her here for ever.. <3

I have a cat also, If he dies i think i would bury him or cremate him. Pets are never for gotten like people. :)

I would just bury it in the backyard out of resect for the animal. I don't think it would want any of the other choices. And if you just bury it, you could mark the burial site to remember forever.

I would have the pet cremated, and have their ashes returned to me.

I have three pets that have been cremated and I have their ashes. When I die, their ashes will be buried with me, or another family member when they die.

That way they'll be with me/us for all eternity.

My sheltie, Copper, died this last April and we had his ashes cremated and put into an urn. It was one of the saddest times of my life and I miss him terribly.

Bury it in my backyard....that's what I've been doing since the first time I had a pet....

I would ask my vet to dispose of her properly....I've always been afraid of backyard burials. There are a lot of critters where I live and I wouldn't want them to dig her up. (ew)

If the price was right, I just might get her put in a kitty urn. That's kinda cute. :-)
