To set up the scenario: A new neighbor moved in to her mothers house the next street over. My cat wanders outside and the woman saw her and took my cat as soon as she saw her. She made no attempt to find us. We were contacted as soon as we offered a reward on some signs. She has been taking her and locking her in their basement ever since- we only get her back when we interrogate her. She says she doesn't have her but when we threaten to call the police the cat miraculously turns up five minutes after we leave. I would call the police but by the time they got the warrent to search the house they will probably sneak her out the back door. What should we do??

If a little yorkie bit somebody he would be put down. Why not a cat that can bite just as hard as a small dog. Or if a cat purposely scratched somebody. I'm sensing dog racism lol

Last night put for the first time ever over the counter flea drops on my cat which apparently poisoned her. I took her to the animal emergency hospital first thing this morning because she is lethargic and breathing shallow and fast and low temperature and he gave her a shot of cortisone and some kind of charcoal to absorb some of it out of her system. He said now we can just let it run its course and wait but that was this morning and she hasnt improved at all today and I've been by her side all day and I feel like I'm just watching her on her deathbed I am so torn up just watching her suffer isnt there anything else I can do for her???

My bettas come in tiny (4x2x8") bags from the wholesaler. There is about 2.5 oz of water in them. Amazingly, most survive the trip. This is far better than they way my old wholesaler shipped them... don't ask!

When I get them, I put them in a 4 oz cup that is considered an "industry standard".
I can't do this anymore. I know it is cruel. I'm going to keep them in 16 oz containers most likely...

4 oz cup - current container
Top width: 3-5/16"
Height: 2-1/8"
Base width: 2-3/16"

16 oz cup - new container?
Top width: 4-9/16"
Height: 3"
Base width: 3-1/2"

The problem is will customers consider the new cup an appropriate home? Right now, about 1/3 think it is OK to keep it in the 4 oz cup I sell them in. I'm not sure why...
I've got to market them in a way that people know this temporary home is better than typical packaging, but this is not an appropriate home! Anything under 1 gallon isn't appropriate!
Am I doing a good thing? Am I creating just more confusion and abuse? Thanks!

My dog is Male, 8lbs, 3 years old and is a Chihuahua. When he throws up it's white, clear and foamy. The amount isn't excessive but he's thrown up 7-8 times throughout the morning on thru the evening. Can you give a dog ant-acid ? I am taking him to the vet on Monday, but would like to try and keep him comfortable until then (It is Sunday July, 22) .

Recently, a cat has been coming near my home. The cat goes in my yard and it meows to me. I gave it food, but he barely ate any. He's very friendly. Should I keep him? I'm not sure if he's a homeless cat or not.

My seemly healthy, normal in all ways, 11yr old cat suddenly began sneezing and stopped eating. Thinking it was just a cold, I let it pass for 2 days and then went to the vet.
He took blood work. He felt no masses in Willy's abdomen, no yellowing of eyes, no fever. The blood work showed a super high elevation of ALT ( enzymes leaking from liver into the blood) Norm range is 20-100. Willy's is 1497. He has had my cat over the weekend with supplements given via IV, plus anitibiotics. He still will not eat on his own. The vet feels this is Cholangiohepatitis. He said it's possible with the meds given, Willy will survive. But it seems to me the count of 1497 is off the chart from the 20-100 norm. Am I foolish to think there is any hope for my cat to survive this? The vet said tomorrow if he hasn't improved....well, it breaks my heart, but he will have to be put down. Does anyone have any knowledge in this area???

ok, i got a pair of blood parrot fish 3 days ago, and they were doing fine the first day we got them, and i noticed that one of them was breathing heavier than the other, and idk whats wrong! the water temp is fine, the water is new, and the aquarium is fairly new, but whats wrong? will they be fine? they come up to the top to eat a little bit, and they share the tank with 3 cory cats, and all of the fish get along fine! so whats wrong?

I'm seeing a lot of conflicting and different opinions regarding feeding them human food.
In addition I give them (natural) dry food and Meow Mix envelopes but they love the eggs most of all.

I recently bought a betta, and I bought Hikari Betta Bio-Gold floating pellets. I've read that I should feed my Betta only once a day, but not sure how many pellets. The instructions on my betta food actually says feed 2-4 pellets 2-3 times a day depending on size of fish. But I'm pretty sure that's wrong.

What do you think should happen to the 2 cruel, heartless girls who almost burned the little kitten Adam to death then laughed while he burned? I am not an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, vengeful sort of person, but still I don't think 3 years is enough because they were more than old enough to know better and laughed while they tortured the poor little thing does anyone else agree?

so i hear all of this stuff that goldfish have a 5 second memory or whatnot, but they go CRAZY in their tank when my mom walks in the room. its just so weird though, its only my mom. and she will try to avoid them and they literally stare at her. i find it kind of funny, but very strange too that they can distinguish my mom from anyone else in the room!

theyre just 2 small, generic goldfish. a little bigger than the ones youd get at the fair, but not much. surprisingly theyre 5 years old!!

anyone experienced anything like this with their fish? or know why they may do this???
