I have a westie, and would like to buy another dog to make eachothers company while i am out working. I love chiuauas, and would like to know, if it would be a nice idea to have a westie and chiuaua at home alone playing??? My litlle dog is very lovely and loves to play with other dogs, but I am not sure about chiuauas how they behave with other dogs...My litlle dog is 8kgs, and a chiuaua would be something like 1,5 kg...is there someone with experience to help???

Yes they can get along fine with other dogs. I've had as many as 9 dogs at one time, all in the house together. 3 were Chis. You have to be careful with very big dogs, because they can be injured just by stepping on them. My Rottie is very gentle with my Chi, but I watch he doesn't run outside with him and possible hurt him in the excitement.

chiuaua dogs do better with other breeds than with other of their own kind. usually with bigger dogs. there is a lot of compitition with other chiuauas. The like to be the only baby

i got 2 chihuahuas last year and they get along just fine with our cocker spaniel...just give them time to get used to each other and they will be friends! first it was hard because the cocker didnt like them but as time went by we were able to let them all outside to play together!
