I'm seeing a lot of conflicting and different opinions regarding feeding them human food.
In addition I give them (natural) dry food and Meow Mix envelopes but they love the eggs most of all.

Feeding your cats some human foods can cause a variety of health problems. Try not to feed your cat any food scraps either. I would also sugest changing your cat food. I was feeding my cats Purina and Meow Mix but my cats were getting hairballs and they didnt look as happy. Science diet is a bit pricier but has done wonders! Your cat will live a longer life if you feed him the same food over a lifetime. Hope this help. =))

Oh, p.s. I just looked in my ASPCA complete cat care manual and it said: Scrambled egg: A lightly scrambled egg makes an excellent light meal. Never feed a cat raw egg whites.

So, your cat will be perfectly fine eating this.

If you want the ASPCA Complete Cat Care Manual, you can probably get it online, but I got mine at Petsmart for $24.95 (hardback). It has really come in handy lately.

Hope this helped. =))

Kittens may enjoy a varied diet but you must make sure that this is also a completely balanced diet. The special kitten diets which are sold are designed to have all the dietary requirements for a kitten and do not need supplements. Too high a level of vitamins and minerals can cause as many problems as too low a level. If you are feeding your kitten on fresh food you will need to supplement it, but you will need to know what is lacking in the diet; if in doubt ask your veterinary surgeon about this. Do not feed your kitten too much of any fresh meat or offal. Changes in diet should be made gradually.

A little bit of scrambled eggs a day is good for kittens, mixed in with dry food or even sardines! the sardines and egg compliment eachother very well fto help the kittens groth and development as they both are full of protein and have alot of needed vitamins, though eggs alone is fine! Avoid raw eggs as there is still a risk that they are a source of salmonella poisoning.

Four meals a day should be given until they are 3 months, reducing to two meals at about 6 months. During this period the size of the meal will increase from about a tablespoon to about two thirds of a cup, but this is only an approximate guideline; kittens will vary and should be fed according to appetite. When growth slows at about a year, two meals are usually sufficient. Your pet will often decide which meals are no longer required by leaving one of them, or showing little interest in it.

Scrambled Eggs For Cats

In many cat foods they add eggs,so why not give them the scrambled eggs as a treat. I give my cat wet food in the AM and leave dry food out all day. At mealtimes if he comes begging I'll let him have a piece of anything we are eating. He may walk away but I give him a chance to enjoy something different. He is healthy and beautiful and seven yrs old.Never give them chocolate, my baby loves vanilla ice crm and I give him some maybe a teaspoon, when we have it. 8 wks old is still very young and their digestive system may not tolerate people fd. You would never feed an infant people food.

http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=1&cat=1399&articleid=1029 Here is a site from Dr. Foster and Smith that lists the foods that are harmful for your cat and the reasons why. With all human foods you need a rule of thumb and that is to remember that the more stuff you feed them without their nutritional nutrients, the less nutrients they will want from their own foods. Kitten food as well as cat food is specifically made for good nutrition for the life of your cat. If you do decide to feed it any thing other than kitty food, give it only sparingly or as a treat and only after they have eaten their kitten meal. Or, do some research on giving an all natural diet that you can put a cat suppliment into for them. You can find the suppliments at pet stores and health food stores specifically for all natural cat food diets you do yourself. I know that raw eggs are not good for a cat. They decrease the absorbtion of Vitamin B, so because of that, I don't feed my cats any eggs at all just to be safe.

I wouldn't feed treats of any sort to kittens this young. They need the balanced nutritian and added vitamins of a prepared kitten food. If they are eating a lot of eggs, they are missing out on getting the combination that is best for their age. Vitamin deficiency can cause health and behaviour problems.

My kitten Shadow found some eggs on the floor and started eating them. Is he gonna be okay! He is old enough to eat solid food. He is 5 months old.

Plain eggs and tuna (packed in water, not oil) are a favortie of my cats. One is 13yrs old, and got very sick. The vet said "The end is near" so to comfort her in her last days, I fed her special meals just for her. Eggs, Tuna, Chicken... And she didn't die. She got better than ever and is still ticking. Can't afford to feed her that 100% but she gets enough to keep her happy. Just don't use a Teflon pan. I don't know if it actually does anything or not but the vet said not to. And don't cook the eggs with oil.

And you kind of have to ask yourself... what did they feed cats before major petfood companies came along with their animal by-product laden 'food'?

Human food is not good for cats or dogs. Search "Foods to Avoid" on Peteducation.com You will see a list where it says that and click on it and then there will be a list of foods not to give them.
