I recently bought a betta, and I bought Hikari Betta Bio-Gold floating pellets. I've read that I should feed my Betta only once a day, but not sure how many pellets. The instructions on my betta food actually says feed 2-4 pellets 2-3 times a day depending on size of fish. But I'm pretty sure that's wrong.

Oh yeah, I'm also planning on buying some freeze dried blood worms. I heard they like those. How many/often should I feed them this. Would a betta survive on just the bloodworms, or do a vary between the bloodworms and the pellets.

The pellets is recommended to soak in water for 10min before serving. Its 3pellets per meal 2 times a day(12hours each meal).

The blood worms serving would be 3-5pieces using tweezers to get it.

No its recommended to feed bettas like many other fish multiple food types for them to have a healthy life.

And a really good treat for them is thaw peas, use this as a treat and not as a meal.(Serving per treat is 1pea)

and also let your betta fast(not eat) once a week to help with his digestion and to prevent bloating and swim bladder problems.

Have fun

I gave my wife a Betta fish for valentines 5 years ago it eats 3 of those pellets twice a day and i haven't had to give her anything since.
The blood worms can work as a food but because they vary in size pieces make sure he eats everything as missed food pollutes a betta tank real quick.

It is healthier for the fish to eat multiple times a day. I feed mine 3 pellets twice a day. The instructions are correct. Just make sure it gets 6-8 pellets daily.

I feed my son's betta 2-3 pellets twice per day. It has done well with that diet for over a year.

Your betta's stomach is only as big as its eye. So feeding as much as it can eat within several minutes is key. Make sure to remove any excess food. I feed my betta freeze-dried blood worms twice a day.

once a week is good if you do it on a wednesday it's easier because betta's only need food one day out of a week Overfeeding causes constipation and constipation causes bacterial infections i've had 5 and they all lived for about 3yrs 6-8 pellets

I fed mine 4 pellets once a day (the floating little balls) and he lived a very long time, couple years, til one day I cleaned the bowl, filled it too full, and he was so excited swimming around, he jumped clear out of the bowl and I found him the next morning all dried up and stuck to the rug. :( I felt so bad.

They tell you to over feed them so you will buy more food. You only need to feed it one-two pellets a day. You can even skip a day without hurting it.
