Unless the lining of the cyst is surgically removed, it will continue to fill back up. They can become infected. Neo-sporin will be fine for now, but consider having it removed.

You're not going to "cure" a weeping cyst that reoccurs. Surgery will be required to remove it. In the meanwhile:

Clip the fur. Once the wound has begun to drain, the fur will get wet and smelly. It can stain upholstery and carpeting. Besides being messy, fur holds the bacteria in place and can slow down the healing and make it harder to keep the area clean. Use blunt scissors or electric clippers to cut away the fur that surrounds the abscess. If you're using scissors, first slip the index and second fingers through the fur and hold them against the wound. Cut the fur so that it's level with the fingers, clipping a 1-inch border all the way around the wound. If the skin is broken, fill the wound with a water-soluble lubricant like K-Y Jelly before you clip. Then thoroughly rinse the area with lukewarm water after you've finished trimming. The trimmed fur sticks to the jelly and washes out.

Clean the area. The tissue inside a ruptured abscess may look red and granular. This means that the sore is starting to heal, but you still need to clean the pus away as it drains. Wash the area with lukewarm water. You can use a mild dishwashing detergent like Dove to get pus out of the fur.

Use Neosporin to help combat bacteria.

If the cysts remains a chronic weeper it can become infected -- which will cause your dog more problems.

You are asking for big problems for your dog and huge vet bills for you if you don;t have it surgically removed. It will keep coming back over and over. It may become infected. It's not going to get better on it's own. Only worse.... and more painful for your dog

You need to have your vet remove the entire cyst or it will keep coming back. Neosporin will not cure it.

You have to keep it clean and disinfected. Do not bandage it. Once it finally makes a scab, keep checking it and making sure it's not hot and swollen-feeling. If it gets like that it's infected again and has to be drained. My cat gets puncture wounds occassionally when he gets into a fight. I use hydrogen peroxide on them and keep him inside and just keep an eye on it.

Most of the time it will cure on its own but you can put neosporn after you clean it with peroxide then bandage it up with goze sometimes dogs get those on their legs when they are kept outside.
