I have 3 cats, 2 have FLV.
One of them has not been feeling well and has bumps ALL over his body, and has been losing his hair. Well I took him to the vet and she said it was an environmental allergy and put him on 3 different antibiotics. He's been on them for about a week or so, and he's doing a little better, but he's really sleepy because one of the meds is Benydryl. Anyways, yesterday he was sitting in the window, and I went over and picked him up and on the window sill there were 2 rice looking things. I looked at them closer and realized they were moving! I called the vet right away, and they said it's probably tapeworms. I have to take a stool sample to them tonight. My questions are:
How do they get tapeworms? How do we get rid of them? If one of my cats have them, do they all? and finally, will the tapeworms somehow affect the FLV he has? Sorry, but he's my baby, and I'm really worried.

I have a dachsund named Snuffles, and I love her to death. But I would really like another dog. I want a Shitzu or a Perginuse. Even if I have enough money to buy one, I'm not sure my aunt will let me get one. How can I convince her?

On the bottle, it usually says 4 tbsp of water conditioner for each 10 gallons of water. What if you only need like...a cup of water. Do you think one drop will suffice?

In other words...

___ drops of water conditioner for each 1 cup of water?

THANKS!

I bought a breeding pair of convict cichlids today and put them in my 4ft tank with my oscar that is about 5 inch long. The male contvict is about 2 inches the female is 1 inch. My major prob is that my oscar wont leave them along and im worried sick he gonna kill them. i have a tank that is 20 x 10 x 12 that i have some sword tails guppies and platy. I know this tank is way to small for my convicts but would they be ok in there for a day or 2 till i bought and set up a new tank. I dont want them to be killed!

We only give our cat, Jules hard food and he eats it occasionally but he likes it with water.
i.e: He will paw his food into his water bowl and eat it, or I will pour water on his food and he will eat it but other wise hr doesn't really like it that much.
he is 10 years old and the vet said he had perfect and strong teeth... :(
We also but him really high quality food:

i forgot to put away my dogs canned food last night. when i left the bowl was full, and the dogs didnt eat any of it when i came back an hour later. i went inside and fell asleep. in the morning i came outside and the food was almost all gone.

could it have been a racoon or a wild animal with rabies? or do u think it was my dogs??

how long does it take for the rabies to kick in?

i have a full grown siberian husky and a 4 month old husky/german shepherd mix (one of the huskys pups).

One vet tried to take a sample when she was awake and failed. Another vet told me that she would have to be sedated for him to take a sample. I had never heard that before. Which way is safer? I am trying to fond out if she has a behavioral problem or a UTI. She pees on anything soft...pillows, clothes, blankets....any ideas??

He is at the vets office in isolation and they are running tests to find out for sure if he has distemper. Please pray for him - the vet is fairly positive it is distemper, but I'm hoping that it is not distemper.

my kitten 5 week old persain male was entering the litter box too much and i observed it cant pee, ot struggled many time but in vain, i took it to the vet he told me it has a blocked urethra and that is due to undevelopled male organ that was too small for it s current developmental stage !!!
he kept pressing on her end and put a catheter he had and the kitten started to pee ... ! he gave her some saline under skin then told me it would be fine after.
second day the kitten was still bad didnt show much imporvement didnt eat also. we kept giving her water and saline and glucose by mouth, then we found her bladder much distended and about to blow, we made him an emergency human cathater and luckily was able to introdue it into his urethra and many droplets came out and released some pressure out but still his bladder is somewhat distended ...
will this continue to happen .. how can we manage ?

I posted a question once before about finding a dog trainer. I live in Dallas, TX and my dog is kid and dog aggressive. I called Bark Busters, but they are just too expensive for me. I am only 16, I only get paid twice a week and I have to pay for it all on my own. The trainer has to accept payment plans and has to be somewhat affordable. I can not pay $500 to train my dog. I am not going to Petco or Petsmart, they do obedience, that is not what I need. I need to resolve his aggression. If you have a trainer that is really good. Please call and ask if they are in Dallas as well, and if not, ask if they can refer someone who is etc. Thank you in advance.

My sister has golden retriever who has a enlarged ear. It appears as though it is filled with puss or fluid but there is no way of knowing for sure. Its like a pastry--seriously thats what it reminds me of. Like its filled with something. Doesn't seem to bother her but it appears to be getting larger. She swims constantly and I was wondering if anyone knew what this is and how to cure it? Thanks!

while I was parking my vehicle. The wound doesn't look that deep but I have got myself vaccinated by injection to prevent rabies.
The strange thing is that I have got bitten by the same dog, which I have been nurturing for past 5 days. The reason for taking care of this dog is that it has given birth to 5 young ones. I had been giving food , provided shelter in my shop when it was raining. Considering this, the behavior of the dog looks abnormal or maybe it may be affected by the rabies.
Now my problem is that if I report the dog for testing in the Goverment laboratory for rabies detection, the young ones will die without her mother? If i don't report, I am letting other people risk with being bitten by the dog? WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I watched Country File a few years ago, on it, a farmer called out his agricultural vet to perform a cesarean section on one of his ewes, the vet charged him £45 which included the cost of the operation, medication and the vet, visiting the farmer rather than the other way round. One of our bitches needed a cesarean, we took her to the vet, who charged us £280 for the op. The dog in question was a Jack Russell, Friends have told me the bigger the dog, the larger the fee, someone who I met at a dog show said it cost £800 for her Dane to have a c/section. what I want to know is, what is the difference between a dog and a ewe? do vets really up the price due to you being emotionally attached to your dog? and how can they justify the massive cost for a dog compared to the minimal fee for a farm animal?

Hi! I just began fostering a mama cat and her kittens for a cat rescue organization. She is sweet and lovable and very affectionate, BUT my dog scared her, then one my own cats came too close to her . . . well, she went PSYCHO and bit my hand right through to the bone. I think she's vaccinated, however, I'm not sure. I soaked my hand in rubbing alcohol and some peroxide. It stopped bleeding but it feels really sore. I'm watching for swelling, but otherwise, I think I'll live. My question- can cat bites cause infection, and if they do, what steps should I take to make sure it doesn't get infected? BTW, I realize the cat's just protecting her babies and is likely terrified of all the changes happening to her, so I don't blame her. I just want to make sure my hand doesn't fall off! lol She is in a quiet room now, away from all the commotion and I think she'll settle down in a few days.
