I have no idea if there is anything you can give them, I have just adopted a 2 year old Staffie/Husky cross and she f*rts all day long, I have smelt some dog f*rts in my time, but hers are unbelievable. You could try ensuring she is on a dry food diet, a high quality one like Hills Science Diet, available from all vets, or something like Iams which is slightly cheaper, they do all sorts, one which has ingredients to maintain a healthy digestive tract might help. You could also call the RSPCA for advice, perhaps dogs can take charcoal tablets, which help for humans, but I wouldn't recommend it without speaking to a vet first. Good luck.

Some dogs are just natural stinkers - bulldogs in particular - which is why there are so many jokes about gassy bulldogs.

Make sure she's drinking enough water.

Feeding her human food can contribute to gas - and a lot of older folks grew up feeding their dogs table scraps.

Start by feeding a better grade of food - especially for senior dogs. The better grades of food contain more nutrition per nugget so you feed less. Again, the elderly may have had a hard time affording food for themselves as children - let alone a dog. So dog got whatever was cheapest that filled the gut.

Buy small sized containers of dry food so you can find a formula that works for HER tummy.

My best friends staffy has the same problem, except he's been windy since birth. We've just looked after him for the last week as they were on holiday, and we got through 3 aerosol air fresheners!! No type of food seems to make any difference.
You may just have to grin and bear it, open the windows and get a gas mask!

the problem is that tinned food is nown to bloat the stumache so the best food is dryed food but in staffys they have a serious wind problem anyway as they build up more gas than other dogs

I agree with Bozema. By the time you introduce a new food you'll be sending the dog home and will get no benefit yourself. 13 is pretty old for a dog, and I think we all get a bit windy with age!

Aww - sorry to hear that - it can be awful. It might be what she is eating (it depends on what she's getting now), but unless you transition her diet very slowly, switching foods will actually make her worse for awhile. No human food - that'll do it every time.

Unfortunately it is just one of those things. I would just keep him on the same food and don't give him any meat products. Stick to dry food.
