hi, my 8 month old newfoundland pups were spayed yesterday, they are still sore and wont wee. i am getting worried about them as they have drunk water and eaten a little but still wont pass water. does anyone have any ideas please????

I know it is extremely rare in dogs, but mine has it. He's been on penicillin treatment for about 2 weeks now with 1 week to go. He isn't getting any worse, but his jaw won't release. Does anyone know if he'll ever be able open his mouth again even if the treatment kills the bacteria and toxin? He can get his tongue out and we have to make him "dog food soup" to eat, so he's not starving. But he's so playful and happy...so I know it's not spreading. Please...any insight would be very appreciated. My vet has never seen tetanus in a dog and he's researched it and called his colleagues....NO ONE knows what's going to happen! All he can tell me is from what he has heard...the outcome is usually not good and the dogs had to be put down.

On occasion he will meow if he wants or needs something but the rest of the time he sits and begs me. When I get up he runs down the hall to my bed? As if he wants me to go to bed with him. It is driving me nuts. Any answers?

I'm leaving for vacation in 2 days, and today I'm going to clean the tank. I'm doing probably a 50% water change and changing the filter for the month. I have this stuff called Cycle that is supposed to put helpful bacteria into a tank. Should I use that also? The only other time I've used it is when I first set up my tank.

He always does this, He stands right in front of the computer and just stares at it. Then I have to move to an awkward angle just to read what's on the computer screen.

I let my bird go outside at 12:00 AM and I've been crying for over 12 hours strait and I'm full of regrets...

I got it from someone my mom sorta works with so I've only had it for a couple months...

How do I stop feeling this regretful pain?

I felt as though I were a bad owner...I mean I fed it regurarly and played with it...

But it just didn't seem to like me and I thought I was doing him a favor.

She was a parakeet...a few years old...and her wings are clipped =[

I laid her black cage on top of a bright [white] sheet with a ton of birdseed in my backyard. I really wish she'd come back.

What do I do?

I have a 10 gallon tank and I recently switched from using bottled water to tap water. I bought Aqua Safe which relieves the tap water from any chemicals that may be harmful to fish. You're supposed to add 7 drops per gallon so I obviously used 70 drops. My question is when I do my 20% water change every week, should I leave my fish in or take them out because I'll be using tap and Aqua safe? Am I supposed to add the Aqua Safe to my aquarium after I replace 20% of the water or should I add the aqua safe to the new water before I put it in? Also since I'll be doing a 20% water change, do I have to add all 70 drops or just enough for the new water? Thanks to all that answer!

Several hours after a partial water change, I noticed eggs sitting on a leaf. How do I know if they're fertilized or not? Should I transfer the stalk to a 2 gallon tank so that the adult fish don't eat them? My largest danio (I'm uncertain as to whether it's male or female) just died; its fins were battered and torn. Is this related to the breeding?

My friend and i both have gotten our puppies at the same time.... hers a chihuahua and mine a shih tzu.

Max (mine) is very smart he can do tons of tricks and the dog trainer said he was one of the smartest in his classes... however he has a chewing problem (he does it when i am not there) and sometimes whines to be with me.

everytime we talk about our problems she always suggests hitting him till he whines.... I hate this advice and sometimes we get into arguments over it. she obviously hits her dog so hard that she makes him cry and supposedly this makes him stop doing whatever it is he was punished for.

ive tried tapping max while forcefully saying no when i catch him in the act but i dont want to hurt him or have him fear me rather than obey me

what do you think

my dog is afrid of all kinds of leashes and collars whenever i put one on her she freaks out she wont move even when i throw treats shes a big mutt that looks like a lab. Ill even spend hrs trying to comfort her to move. Any Ideas to get her used to the leash and collar?

We owned a labrador, who died of old age at 14 a couple years ago. So we have experience with medium/big dogs.
My parents would like a small/medium dog, but i would like a larger one that i can play with and "wrestle" with.
We want a dog that dosent shed or bark too much. And that enjoys being in the water ( i know i depends on the specific dog, but a breed that usually enjoys it).
I would really like a big dog in a small dogs body too. >_<

I got my hamster at a good friends house when i stuck my hand in the cage it didnt bite me, at first when i brought her home she didnt bite me when i tryed to get her out, but a few days later when i stuck my hand in there to get her out at my house she bit me, but out side of the cage she dosent bother me at all. why is she bitting me? what can i do to make her stop( its only a month and a week old) my dog, exept for in the morning refuses to go outside to use the restroom this just started happening, and he has water and still drinks it but refuses to go out whats wrong with him, and my hamster?

I have two of the exact same dogs, puggles, 4 years old and 3 years old. The 3 year old must have something wrong with him. He will just not learn. He has been completely potty trained for over two years now but he still is having accidents. He doesn't have peeing accidents. He poops in the house. This morning I took him out and he went pee and poo outside. We came inside and I ran upstairs to get something and there was poop in two spots. I don't understand why he can't learn to go to the door or hold it for a couple of minutes. He had just went outside! I am so frustrated with him. I have to look at his butt and I can tell if he has to go potty but if I don't rush him outside at that moment he will poo in the house. It is like he has no control back there. Is that possible? Is there medicine for this? I am loosing my patience with him.
