I read on a cat website somewhere that you could spay/neuter a cat at 8 weeks of age. I've always heard and thought that you had to wait until 6 months to spay/neuter an animal. Is this a myth, or does it have any truth at all to it?

Hey Everyone.
In two weeks me and my family are going to go to san diego for a week. We are planning to bring our dog too. He is a toy poodle at age 5.
On recent trips we would put him at a kennel/doggy daycare type of place. We've been doing that pretty much since he was a pup whenever we went on trips. But ever since he was 2 he would have diahria for a while after we picked him up from the kennel. We figured it was stress because there was no one to play with him.
So now we are bringing him. Theres one problem. Hes a real barker and we got him a bark collar. But I dont want to keep it on him all day for 11 hours while we are gone doing stuff in san diego. Does anyone have any ideas?
I would appreciate so so much. This dog is my baby and i really want to bring him. He'll have alot of fun too, taking walks in parks and beaches.
Thanx.

I regret asking this as my first question.

An acquaintance said he wouldn't eat at a particular restaurant because he could smell rats when he walked in. At the time I didn't have the oppourtunity to query him as to what rats smell like so I thought I'd ask people who actually own some.

I realize domestically kept rodents and feral rats are two different things....but I'm hoping someone may be able to describe the smell of a nest of rats.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 2pound Yorkie. She is very tiny. She always has had a problem with weezing and gasping for air when she gets reall excited, but i figured it was becuase her lungs we really small. Last night she woke up at 3:30 in the mroning and couldnt stop sneezing. I was like a non-stop continuious sneezing and weezing. I got her u[p and made her walk around the house and drink some water, but it contiued for about an hour. I felt bad for her because i really couldnt do anything to make it stop. Is theie anything ic ould do to help her wheezing and sneezing?

I have one cat who is 8 months to a year old that we got March of this year. And just the other day we got a kitten 8 weeks old. The two of them chase each other and wrestle and the older one bites the younger ones neck and licks it sometimes. They are both males. The younger one can't meow yet it opens its mouth but nothing comes out so I don't know if it hurts him. I keep separating them but when I close them off in separate rooms the older cat meows like to say open the door but then they go at it again. What should I do

it's in the pets category because none of the other categorys are really applicable, so don't limit it to soemthing to keep as a pet.
