We purchased a dog from a guy a couple of weeks ago. He is a breeder, he breeds dobermans, min-pins, and german shepards. We were told that the puppy we purchased was 12 weeks old, and was considered a family pet, and was wonderful for children. Being new at the dog buying experience, we really thought that a breeder would give us honest information, and being he had been doing this for over 30 years, we chose to believe him. Well, I feel completely mislead. We got the dog home, and she was "okay" with the family the first 2 days. After that, she seemed really skiddish, and she would growl and snarl at my husband and me anytime we'd go near her. We tried and tried to gain this dog's trust, and she starts SNAPPING at us! My daughter was on the couch with me one night, she came up to my daughter, growled, and bit her on the cheek, and my daughter didn't even touch the dog. I will continue below, I am out of room! I had 2 betas a while back. Both I took good care of. Cleaned their water, gave food, etc. They died from a fungus in the water. I even got liquid stuff to help stop fungus for the second one. How do I stop it?

What's a good dog for this? A large house like 2 acres but 1.5 acres is the house itself. 3 teenagers in the family and the parents. Already have the swetest dog ever who is a Newfoundland but a strangly large Newfoundland who weighs 220 lbs. The dog is so so so sweet though. We want the dog for our 11 year old. She was looking for a shih tzu but we found out those are hyper. So whats a great toy dog for this family. The dog has to be very mellow though.

I just need to know ever color of the snail. Chestnut, Golden, Dark Purple Striped, Light Purple Striped, Pearl/Ivory, Blue, and Jade.

If anyone knows of any other colors then the above listed, please tell me.

Also I'd like to know the colors that Ramshorn and Malaysian Myster Snails(MTS) come in.

Hello all. I have a male cat that has been with my family and I for about 2 years. He's a very good cat. He doesn't bite, scratch or "terrorize" myself or my kids. We are looking at adopting a 1 year old terrier dog. The dog is bigger than the cat. I was told by the SPCA that this dog is good with cats and already house trained. I don't want to bring home this dog and have my house destroyed or my cat injured or the dog injured.
My cat is declawed and only goes outside for a few minuets at a time. He likes to be indoors.

Any ideas?

There is a person that is causing trouble with people that writes their opinon on declawing and that he will report them if they say anything about it. I will ask that person does people opinons stink if they tell a person that has asked a question about declawing and what the cat went through and how the cat is doing etc. What happened to FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

i just purchased a greek tourtoise yesterday and i was wondering what kind of bedding to use in the cage. the guy at the pet store told me to use soil and keep it moist but dont they usually live in the dessert? also, suggestions on what to feed them and which kind of heat lamps to use would be appreciated. thankk you!

My dog is a 1 1/2 year old male mixed breed. He's very loving and affectionate and likes to just snuggle up next to everyone. He has a weird habit of putting his mouth around the middle of my forearm. He doesn't bite down at all just kind of puts my arm in his mouth for a second and then removes it. He doesn't do this to anyone else in our house but me. He does it at least once a day. Does anyone know why?

I have a 20 gallon tank, we keep it clean but my female betta's keep dying very slowly. It could take them up to 8 weeks before they die, and they only die one at a time. They lose energy, their body will become curved, and they will only stay at the top of the tank in one spot until I feed them. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

I've had aquariums for over twenty years. Always fresh water. I have a small one now, 10 gallon, that I've had for around 5 years now.
I have a rather large placostamus, some neon tetras, a couple of black tetras and a cory catfish. They've all been alive since I've had the tank, absolutely no problems at all.
I went to Petsmart and bought a couple of tiger barbs and four red swordtails, a total of six fish. I do have a very good filter and air pump as well, so I know the water is clean and well aerated. I also test it for chloramines, chlorine and ammonias regularly.
Within a week and a half, all of the "new" fish have died. The originals are perfectly okay.
Has anybody else experienced this with fish from Petsmart? What in the world could have happened? If I had too many fish in the tank, I would have thought that my original fish would have suffered as well. but like I said they are still just fine.

A stray has been staying around outside of our house for a few weeks now. It has taken to letting us sit and pet her. I was just brushing her with a wire brush (she loves it) and whenever I do this, it brings these little seed like looking bugs to the surface of her fur. And there are LOTS of them. What are they? They are light in color and don't look like typical fleas and they crawl, they don't jump.

Please, no comments to the effect of "take her to the vet" and "take her to the humane society". I am not on here looking for that kind of info, if you give it I will give you a thumbs down and NO hope of getting a best answer. My husband is allergic to cats and I can't take her in. I am willing however to get her medication to rid the bugs if I knew what they were. Thank you.

one of my budgies loves exploring my hand. she just climbs around my thumb and pecks/gently bites at my fingers, fingernails and palm. sometimes she flaps her wings when she's on my hand. does this mean she wants me to get out or she is just exploring because she;'s very young. Its not that she is aggressive but she sits on my hand for hours moving around and as I move my hand, she moves with it. just want ya to get a clear picture. thanks.

I noticed all my goldfish swimming at the top of my tank yesterday, so I did a 40% partial water change. They swam around for a little while, then all returned to the top (both when I'm watching and peeking at them).
The water quality seems ok, I've tested pH, carbonate, hardness, nitrite, and nitrate- all are normal. Any ideas???

My 7 week old jack russell terrier puppy wakes up in the middle of the night and I have to get up and take him out which is hard to do because im sleepy. I only had him for almost 3 days and I dont want to keep getting up in the middle of the night to take him out to pee. What should i do??
