I might let my friend take care of my fish, at her house, and I will have to put him in a fish bowl. He is usually in a big tank with a top on it. I'm afraid that he might jump out of the bowl at my friend's house. I've heard that they jump out of bowls.

I have two 9 month old kittens who will be going off kitten food soon. I also have just taken in a stray, now 12 weeks old. Stanley, one of my older kittens, is already pretty big and I am worried than if he eats kitten food he will continue to get much bigger than he should. How do I keep the older cats from eating the kitten food that the little one needs?

I feed my fish every morning, but I'm going away, and nobody is coming until a day after in the evening. My fish is used to being fed every morning, every day. I'm worried that something will happen. He has never gone more than a day without food.

I am planning on buying an purebread Australian Shephard. I found a number in the newspaper that said "Australian Shephard puppies, Standard or Miniature. I called him up, and he said that he had 60 dogs. Isn't that a bit much? He has about 7 puppies that 7-8 weeks old, and another litter is about 4 monthes old. But he said that he has been breeding for 27 years. He seemed to know a lot about the breed, there background ect. He said he has had Aussies since he was small, and he is about 60 now. Do you think this is a puppy mill or a backyard breeder? What are some signs to look out for. Ps. The puppies that are 7-8 weeks old are 350 $ Can. and the 4 month olds are 250 $ Can. I will definitely not buy them if they are from a puppy mill/backyard breeder, because of the health concers, the cruelness, and it would go against my morals. Thanks in advance.

How do you know your Betta is getting old? Mine is starting to loose the black in his mask and is forming like.. two white stripes on either side of his head starting from where his eyes are to his fins..

Also, hes lowing some coloration on his bottom fin. Usually, in the light you can see his bright red undertone (he was a cheap pet store betta) but now its a transluscent pink-ish.

So im thinking hes either getting old, getting sick or turning into a female Lol.

Any suggestions?

Ignore the blue color, they were different cameras and the 'after' picture was taken with flahs so that you could see the white lines.

I got my betta from Petsmart when it was at a descent size so im assuming it was already a year old or more. Ive had him for about 6 months to a year.

The thing is, is that she's cleaned her 5 new kittens and has totally fed them, and me and my sis have been there the whole time. I've read to give the babies and mum some privacy for the first 3 days so after assuring that she's safe, we've left her alone in a big box full of blankies for her and her kits in a nice, warm room....so here's my problem:

She keeps climbing out of her box of kittens to come find us, and if we leave she leaves to find us. She's obviously telling us she doesn't want to be alone, but i thought we were supposed to be giving them privacy? What should we do? One of us stay with her and her kits all the time?

I currently have a 13 year old male cat that has been an only cat for the entire 13 years we have had him...I would love to get a kitten also. How do you think my 13 year old would get along with a kitten? My current cat is very spoiled and sleeps with his head on my pillow every night.

I rescued a 1 year old female rottie on Monday, she is very fearful and continuous flinches and cowards, with me she is coming alone leaps and bounds, I also have a 5 year old little boy and she is a little frighten of him but overall not to bad, the problem is that tonight when my boyfriend came in, she really barked at him as she was backing away from him, he didn't talk to her just sat in the living from with me, she was very worried about him and just sat watching him, he done NOTHING to reassure her he wouldn’t hurt her but also didn’t pose a threat as he just ignored her, but when he got up to go in the garden, he raised his hand to his back and she went up to him sort of jumped up and tried to bite his hand, she didn’t even leave a tiny mark but I don't think it was just her mouthing, I don’t think she wanted to hurt him but she did make contact with her mouth, I have asked him to try to reassure her but he is saying no she has to go, am I doing the wrong in keeping her?

I recently bought a persian kitten for my daughter's b-day.
We have had her for about 3 weeks now.
All of a sudden my daughter has 4 ringworms on her and I'm almost positive that this kitten has given it to her since she is always carrying it around.
Is there something that I can give the cat in order to not give her ringworms any more?

right now i use i think its Purina or Iams its in a purple bag and its like cat favorites or something. Is there anythign healthier i can feed them? Padmae is a 1 year old Female Tortie and Boba is a 2 1/2 year old tabby.

my goldfish recently jumped out of its bowl. we found it lying still on the ground and assumed it was dead. while debaiting for about five minutes on wether to tell our little one we decided to put it back in the bowl as soon as we did it started to show faint sighns of life and we were amazed. we left it for about five minutes and it is back to normal, except for the redness round its gills which looks like blood, is this normal?

he has been diagnosed with demodectic mange, I've been taking him to the vet i've already spent hundreds of dollars and everytime i go the vet gives me antibiotics and tells me he'll be fine he seemed to be ok but the mange came back and now he's losing almost all of his hair, i tried two different vets already and it seems like they just want to get my money every visit is around $150 - $200 between visits and scrapings. Does anybody know about a remedy that i can probably try i love my baby and i want him to be fine.. he's a mix between a rat terrier and a chihuahua, he's about 5 pounds and 6months old.

okay, heres the deal:

i went into a pet store the other day and found a product that is a coloured light that sends a SMALL amount of air bubbles into the tank. Next to it, there was a product that was basically an air pump that sent lots of air bubbles. I dont know if i should go for lighting or more bubbles..

i bought a fish 3days ago and it was fine for a day. 2days ago it wasnt as active and was floating around. Just looked at my fish 2hours ago and its fins are shredded into little bits,its at the top of my tank lying there, its still alive. This is the third time this has happened 2 my fish. Ive added ESHa 2000 which cures Fungus,Finrot & other bacteria infections. Can anyone tell me what the cause is, Thanks In Advance

i desperately want one of the breeds i mentioned. its for my daughters second birthday, and everytime she sees one, she has a fit that she can't take it home. does anyone in the dc, md, va areas know anybody or shop selling any of theses at cheap rates, say no more than 300? i know its a little far fetched, but it cant hurt to ask around.
