I feed my fish every morning, but I'm going away, and nobody is coming until a day after in the evening. My fish is used to being fed every morning, every day. I'm worried that something will happen. He has never gone more than a day without food.

Fish can easily go a few days (if not weeks) without feeding, you should have no worries.

If your fish is well fed than there should be no problems with them going up to a week without being fed.

Two days should not be an issue at all. Make sure that you show them how much to feed, as over feeding is the biggest problem with letting other people take care of your fish.

Think of your fish as people would you like to go 2 days without food? I would get a feeding block. If your tank has proper cleaning cycles there may not be enough on the bottom of the tank for them to pick through.

Your fish should be fine...just feed them right before you leave. If you are gone for only two days there should not be much to worry about. If you are really concerned there are "vacation" food pellets that slowly dissolve in the water over the period of a few days. I have not used them but have heard they will cloud up the water in your tank. So you will likely have to change your water when you get back from using one of them.

A healthy, well fed fish can go for a week or more without food. It would be fine for 2 days. ; )

Feeder blocks are a very bad idea because there is very little food in it for as much as it pollutes the water.

Your fish will be fine eating every other day. I would worry more about your friend overfeeding due to lack of experience. You should demonstrate the amount of food to give, and then make your friend feed the fish in front of you. This will eliminate the guess work.

This is generally not a bad idea as research shown that a fish that is underfed lives longer than an overfeed fish. I think your fish will be much healthier. It should be okay as long as some one feeds it every 2 days.

Your fish will probably be fine going without food for that time. If you're really worried about it, though, you can buy an automatic feeder that will automatically dispense food into the tank at a specified time each day.

I don't think it'll be fine...My little brother had a fish that lived for three years 'cuz my dad fed it every morning, everyday...and last week he forgot to feed it one morning 'cuz he was busy, and it died that afternoon. It might depend on the fish, and my brother's fish was a goldfish.

Yes it is no prblem to let your fish go two days without food occasionally. there is no problem- he will find plenty to pick up of f thebottom - if you are gone longer than two or three days , visit your pet sotre and get a feeding block that will release food over time
