okay, heres the deal:

i went into a pet store the other day and found a product that is a coloured light that sends a SMALL amount of air bubbles into the tank. Next to it, there was a product that was basically an air pump that sent lots of air bubbles. I dont know if i should go for lighting or more bubbles..

thanks in advance

If you have an external, hang on the back filter, then air bubbles are usually not necessary. It only takes a small amount of surface agitation for water to absorb oxygen. If you can afford the bubble light, and that is what you want in your tank, then get it.

If you have a filtered aquarium the air is just like the light, purely for decoration so in that event go either way. If you have no filter on the tank, get that first.

What do you mean by small bubbles? Small amount of bubbles or small size of bubbles? I would get the sen't lots of bubbles but small sized bubbles.
