but im really scared of drowning because my body gets tense and i just can get a grip and control my body, it either sinks down or it moves in a different direction. i know how to swim really well except for the floating part

First things first. RELAX...People drown because the are panicing and tense. If you can float, just feel like your home and safe sleeping on your bed!

Don't worry about drowning there is most likly life gaurds for one just relax and lay there like your gong to sleep and take deep breaths your lower chest abdomen hips and legs will be slightly submerged buy your upper back head and neck will be above water

Find a little kiddy pool, and just completly relax. Take a deep breath, and completely relax your body... are you a fish?

Just put your legs up very slowly and then put your arms out but then try to keep your head lifted up.

just lay on your back and put your arms out. make sure that you are in the shallow end
