Go to the library and get some books on hamsters and dogs - that way you will learn about their behavior.

The hamster is still young and is still adjusting to a new surrounding. The dog on the other hand...it could be a couple different things. Do you live in a busy area? Because there may be more traffic at other times than in the morning, which might upset or scare your dog. Are there other dogs around?Your dog might not want to go outside if a neighbor has a dog out that your dog feels threatened by. You have to look at your surroundings. And, does your dog go to the door like it has to go potty, and when you open your door does it turn around and walk away? Or does it show no interest in going out? Because, your pup just might not need to go.

Ok here goes:

Hamster: She sounds like she may just be stressed about being in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar smells and unfamiliar people. I'd give her at least a week (that's 7 days in this case) to herself. U may even want to keep her cage covered with a piece of lightweight cotton during this time to give her time to settle into her new home and family.

Dog: The only thing I can think of is there's something wrong with his intestines, especially if he's being tryin to go and not getting anything. Take him to your vet.

Well, first thing is you may be provoking the hamster by sticking your hand in and invading its space too much. You're trying to get it to do what you want it to do, but that's not what *it* wants to do. I'd bite too. ;) Don't corner it, and don't make it feel forced. Let it crawl onto your hand, then gently lift it out, for example, instead of reaching in and chasing it around and grabbing hold of it. Problem: fear.

Need more info on the dog... does it use the restroom in the house? what kind of dog is it?

I know nothing about hamsters, but a little about dogs. Did you notice anything happen that may have scared your dog? Firecrackers, maybe? Did you put something on your lawn, or is the grass soggy? My best bet is that he's afraid of something out there. Try going with her or taking her for a walk see what happens.

it'll hurt! haha. but nothing more. only a few cases of hamster bites AROUND THE WORLD TILL THIS DAY( out of the hundreds of thousands of hammies that were alive) has ever caused diseases, they weren't supposed to either, so no rabies for you! It's only really bad if you're allergic to hamster saliva.

The hamster might be a little overprotected and the dog might be a little uncomfortable with the new pet in the house.
