i put him with some other fish in a tank 3 of the other fish the tiger barbs where piking on him nibbling his fins (my mom called me at work) he hid behind the filter when i came home my mom had placed him in a fish bown now he seens scared what should i do to relieve him

i just feel like i should give her another chance before i spaye her. She was brought to the vet with the one surviving kitten to make sure there was nothing wrong and everything was fine. so i dont know wat went wrong. She seemed like a good mother. I feel so bad for her cuz she keeps looking for her kittens. :(

My boyfriend and I are thinking about adopting a kitten. He is mainly concerned about it peeing everywhere. Is there a difference between male and female cats and their litterbox habbits? I have heard that male cats peeing habbits are worse then females? Is this true, please only answer if you know for sure.

My next question is about the cats behavior. My boyfriend wants a playful cat as well as a lap cat. He does not want a shy cat that hides under the bed. My guess is that if you give your cat a loving and healthy home then it will be just fine right?

I only want to get this kitten if I am 100% positive we will both be happy with it. I don't ever want to have to take the cat back to the shelter for ANY reason, and I do want to help save ones life.

Soon I will be getting another pug as a playmate for my 5 year old female (a boy the same age). She is usually alone 5 days a week for 7-8 hours during the day and is uncrated. She does just fine because she is trained and gets plenty of exercise when I get home. How should I treat the new dog if it's not used to this? Is it wrong to crate one dog while the other is loose? I'm not sure how to handle this situation. Thanks!!

i have come 2 a point where i just cried 2day -i'm so frustrated. i luv our puppy 2 bits but i am getting 2 a point where i am starting 2 wonder if this was a good idea. my daughter wanted a dog. she saw a 4 year old great dane, played with him & loved it. so I got a puppy but now the puppy bullies her, pushes her over & really bites her hard. so hard that the skin is broken & bruised. she is now scared of the puppy & cringes when the puppy comes her way. The puppy listens 2 me but when she sees my daughter all the training just disappears. she sees my daughter as a living, breathing toy. And although my daughter is scared out of her wits, she still wants to play with the dog but mostly hides behind me.

I dont know what I should do. should i find her another home??? i dont want 2 -but the dog is going 2 be huge and she is growing 10x faster than my daughter & i dont want 2 risk anything happening. I am frustrated & very sad that it's turned out this way. Any suggestions???

there is this totaly cute puppy at the pound,and i realy want her but the tag an her cage says dachshund.she has the body of one but she is all white with a brown spot here and there,and dachshunds arnt white.she is a puppy about 7 wks old and about ankle high.so does anyone have an idea of what els she might have in her?plz help!

I have two large sunfish and two medium sized crappies (for now.. ) and also an algae eater. I have been feeding rosy minows but they get expensive, plus the pet store always rips me off!! Is there anything else I can feed them that is relativlely cheap? Or is there any food really good for them that I could give them once in awhile for a "treat"? Thanks for your answers. P.S. I live in MN, so it has to be food I can get here- no online stuff please.

I would like to know if it is ok to give a 12 weeks old puppy normal dog food? What is the difference in the 2? And what will be the result if I feed her Adult dog food. She has a large appetite and I was wondering if adult food will be more filling.

I have one 3 stripe damsel fish in a 6 gallon tank with a bio-filter. i've had it for 10 days, and he started acting weird yesterday. he is staying at the bottom in the sand, and is very inactive except for the occasional effort to avoid floating to the top. he didnt eat today, and he just got a sudden burst of energy that sent him to the top of the tank, and now he is laying on top of a plant in the tank. here are the water's test results from the tests i ran this morning:

pH=7.8
ammonia=0
nitrite=0
nitrate=20

any idea what is wrong? salt levels are fine! what could be wrong, and can i help him? i dont want my fish to suffer anymore, but i dont want him to die either! what is wrong?

My betta became sick last week. He was sitting at the bottom of the bowl rather than swimming around and we would kind of have to "wake him up" for him to greet us at the side like he does (he is a very friendly fish). I changed his water (which I do weekly anyways) and left for the weekend. When I got back yesterday he had not gotten better. I did not notice anything other than loss of color and stiff fins and tail when I went to the store to buy medicine for him so I got some general anti-bacterial drops called "Betta Fix Remedy". I changed the water again, put a new fresh plant in, and added the proper amount of drops. Later that day he started to become more active but then would sit on the bottom again. Then I noticed the symptoms of "Ick" (white dust looking stuff covering his head and fins). I'm wondering if I should continue with the med I have now or if I need to get something specifically for Ick. Will all this change in the water make him worse?

we're moving to hawaii soon and she sheds alot. i'm thinking that between the shedding and the heat/humidity in hawaii, maybe i should look into having her shaved? not completely, but just to think the hair out? any ideas or suggestions?
