Your turtle probably likes your bed and thinks that it's a great nesting place. I would suggest letting your turtle stay on your bed and let her nest. Your turtle knows what she is doing! Try not to disturb her. Looks like you might be sleeping on the couch for a few days, or months! But, you would do it for your turtle if you really loved her and wanted some succesful baby turtles! I hope that this helps! Good Luck!

1. You need a better habitat- not only one that is harder for her to get out of, but also one that allows proper nesting behaviors. Outdoor pens are usually the best for breeding turtles.

2. Something about your bed is more attractive to her than the yard. They won't usually nest during the day- does she have access to the yard at night?

3. If she is damaging the eggs, they are probably not fertile to start with. Turtles in captivity often lay infertile eggs.

First of all, if your turtle is getting out of their tank that could be a deadly fall..that's not good. They are aquatic turtles.

You need to have a large tank (ten gallons per inch of shell), water heater, filter, dock, UVB bulb, heat bulb, two clamp lamps, 78F water, and 90F basking.

Signs of being gravid include restlessness and scratching the side of the tank.

You need to set up a large rubbermaid container (30-50 gallons) and heat it with a light fixture-place turtle in there for some time each day while they are gravid. They need to have enough room to dig so the bigger container the better.

Also take for walks outside which will help a lot. Egg retention is dangerous...here is a good link to check out for reproducing http://www.redearslider.com/reproduction.html

Discard the eggs-you can't sell them and res are overpopulating ecosystems.

Good luck.

well i cant imagine how it gets on ur bed but it probably finds ur bed to be a good nesting place because its warm on ur blanket. It also might be on r bed cuz it cant find anywhere else to lay its eggs that it thinks is jsy rite. Try to see why she doesnt like it in the tank and try to fix her problem...
