I would say that if your not going to breed it is better to spay and neuter your pets. I also know that, at least in females, if not breeding, spay!! Their health will be better. Males will tend to explore, especially if their is a female in heat and if he gets to her, you can be liable for any and all vet bills. THEY do know how to jump fences and dig. If you do plan on breeding some day, keep your pet secure and away from females unknown. Just like people, there are diseases out there that can cause major problems. To my knowledge, there are no condoms for dogs yet, thats why our shelters are all full and so many get put to sleep per year around the country. In conclusion, if you know you wont breed ::spay and neuter. Good Luck and take care...

Mating For Dogs

Since your dog is grown, it is NOT TRUE that it will have health problems if it does not mate with a female first. Health problems stem from getting a large breed dog spayed or neutered too soon, which can affect proper growth for one thing, esp. in a larger breed. But it's a good thing to neuter your dog now that he is a year old.
Mating is absolutely not NECESSARY for health.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU89j

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

No. Breeding is not a social act for animals like it is for humans. No physical harm will come from not mating either. That said, do consider getting your dog neutered. It will eliminate testicular cancer and reduce a whole host of other problems.

I have two small dogs of opposite sex. They are both neutered/spayed. They are happy and healthy. They enjoy each others company and seem content. Unlike humans, most animals mate for the purpose of reproduction not for love.

Absolutely not. That is an old wives tail. Allowing him to mate, or at least not neutering him, can lead to health problems though.

No, not at all true. It is much better for your dogs health if you neuter them or not let them breed. It will prevent testicular cancer and many different reproductive diseases.
