my betta is scared?

Question

i put him with some other fish in a tank 3 of the other fish the tiger barbs where piking on him nibbling his fins (my mom called me at work) he hid behind the filter when i came home my mom had placed him in a fish bown now he seens scared what should i do to relieve him

Bettas are extremely timid fish that are only aggressive towards other males of their own species. Putting a peacful Betta in with a bunch of aggressive, nippy fish will kill him if you leave it there. Keep it in the bowl for a while and turn off the lights to relieve stress. If you have any stress coat, add a little of that to the water also.

Whoever told you that you could put him with some tiger barbs was wrong. They are aggressive fish and a whole lot quicker than a betta which is slowed down by it's fins. You need to add some stress coat and make him his own tank OR if you can't, find him a better home.

keep him in the bowl and add a inexpensive air pump with air stone(to circulate the water) and treat his fins with API Stress Coat(Good for dechlorinating water, repairing fins and outer damage and replaces the old slime coat) or any other medications to help heal the fin.

Let him rest and dont go too close to the tank for couple days and feed him regularly with a variety of foods like peas as a treat, bloodworms if possible, betta flakes and pellets.

Poor little guy, they like to be alone, normaly they would attack the other fish, but, I guess he wont. Seperate him from the others.
