You may want to add some pure pumpkin to his diet. Just get the canned and make sure it's pumpkin only not the pie mix. Put a couple of spoonfuls in his food. That will help him go if not let your vet know. All the best;~)

1] if he isn't 'pooping' at all, call the vet
2] if he is pooping indoors, take the poop outside in area you'd like him to go, and take him there immediately after meal, treat, etc. Let him smell his own 'scat', and he will know it is safe to poop there.
If he is a rescue dog, they don't necessarily get trained to go outside. He has to learn to relax enough to do it. Stay outside with him, and a water bowl, as long as it takes - up to 30 minutes or so.
If he poops as soon as you go back in, take him and his scat back outside again.
[ Make sure you clean any 'poop' areas well, so smell is gone completely - use a disinfectant etc. with a strong smell. ]

Have you given him rawhide lately and could his system be blocked by a chunk of rawhide that he swallowed? I never give rawhide chews because it can expand and block the system. Chuck and Don's carry Peisel sticks which are impossible for a dog to break a part off.

I assume he is pooping inside or he will die soon.....that being said perhaps he is afraid of outside yet.....keep him outside in play till he goes.....
