My 16 day old puppy was given a subcutaneous injection tonight and the liquid bubbled out of his nose. After about 1/4 cc, he started gagging and then it he vomitted and the bubbles from his nose. The vet administered an IV in his front leg on a very low drip and just as instantly, he again gagged and started vomitting the IV fluid. No one has ever heard of this happening before and we are stumped as to what's going on with my litter of pups. Mom is extremely healthy with a steady temperature of 100.9. But I have lost 11 pups in 52 hours to this "bizarre" disease.

On the filter pumps, every once in a while there is white crusty deposits. What are they and how to keep them from getting there.

the dog has been left alone in the house for 6 days. some one is feeding it,but, he is not being taken outside to do his buisness and barks and whines continually. i have tried to help him,but animal rescue said that there is nothing they can do scince the dog hasn't been abandoned and he his inside out of the cold. is there anything else i can do?

I have two fantail goldfish in a 10-gallon tank. I'm unsure of their genders. One fish follows very closely behind the other one almost constantly. The "leading" fish had fin rot a few weeks ago, which I treated, but it's sick with fin rot again. Could the other fish's constant close swimming be causing stress in my fish, leading to illness? (Note: I've haven't observed any signs of nipping or fighting.) If so, what should I do to stop the behavior?

Im 13 and LOVE dogs. I want to start a sled team but my dad says no. only if i pay he says. i no that good dogs are expensive and hard to find but i know i can do it even if my team only starts out with 1 or 2. So my mom has always had cats, and I have always loved having them around. I moved into my bf's place about 6 months ago and he has agreed to let me get a cat of my own, even though he still has his doubts about cats (He has never had pets before). My bf has already expressed that he wouldn't want the cat in our bedroom or in the office. Based on that I have three questions: 1) Should I adopt a younger cat or kitten so I can "mold" them, or would an older cat be better? 2) Should my bf really worry about cats destroying his computers? He said he wouldnt want them chewing on wires, but I thought that was a canine habit. And 3) What other helpful tip do you guys have for owning and taking care of a cat?

I have a cocker spaniel and when I got home from work today he is going nuts on his tail. He has pulled out most of the longer hairs and won't quit chewing on it and now he is groaning. I looked at the tail and I can see nothing wrong with it. Could it be fleas? Isn't it too cold for fleas? I live in Northern MN. Am I going to have to bring him to the Vet?

I'm trying to set up my first saltwater tank as low-budgetly as possible (I'm a student). I live right near the ocean and have access to all sorts of things (saltwater, sand, rock, fish, crabs, etc) and was hoping to use as much live stuff as I can. I was wondering if the rock and sand from the ocean would work like store-bought live rock and sand. Or will these work at all?

Kinda' lame to say, "I think he'll be lonely." Since he's a betta but... come on! :P Haha Poor guppies going to have to stay in there little cup until I can put them back in the big guppy tank where they were born (10 gallon tank of guppies I have aside from the 1 gallon betta tank :P )


ANYWAY -- Anyone know of any good *SMALL* heaters for my tiny little 1 gallon tank I keep my betta in? I have one now, but it's only used for getting your water up to the right temperature, which I can't leave unmonitored. :( *The darn thing can reach 170 degrees or something it said <-outside of water! OMG -- Is the company trying to fry my fish?!*



I have one in my 10 gallon tank, but I think it's too big <-but perfect for my small tank. :(

i want a king snake but my mom is scared of snakes and so wont let me have one.she says if a bring a snake home it is going outside which wouldnt work out because it would freeze to death or someone will let it loose and then i have no pet.so does anyone have some tips on how to convince my terrorized mother into letting me have a snake

I'll be getting two white's tree frogs, they will be house in an 18x18x24 exo terra vivarium.
I will be putting clay pellets down and then live moss.
I was thinkng about setting up one of tyhose little dippers above the water bowl, so it hits some leaves for the frog to drink ,and keep the humidity up, would that be good.
Or would getting a waterfall from exo terra be better?
Also does my setup sound good?

l have 3 dogs one is a pittbull , great dane , and a boxer. They r my babies and no fear at all since my husband is in iraq and it is just my 2 kids and l. All my pets are rescued dogs and they all get along great. we do go through alot of food for them but they are worth it.
