I swear my cat thinks he's a person. He LOVES people food. Chicken, steak, pork chops, sausage and esp. yogurt and pudding are among his favorites. He's even been known to eat soup and pasta. Is this normal? My other cat will not eat people food. And just how bad is people food for cats?

together when they go out. I call them and they come from different directions. We have had all 4 of them for at least a year. They play together when they're inside but they also have occasional spats. Why is this?

Think before you buy impulse fish. Many fish get huge (tall and wide too) and to top it off need groups. Fish do NOT grow to the size of a tank.
Bala sharks--14 inches, needs a group;
Silver dollars--10 inches long, almost as tall, needs groups;
Redtail catfish--5 feet long;
Pacu-- 2feet long and tall, forget a short tank;
Goldfish-- 12-16 inches average, and a round body means more bioload;
Koi-- 5 feet long;
Common pleco-- 2-3 feet;
Oscar-- 14 inches;
Angelfish-- 10 inches long and tall;
Convict cichlid-- 8 inches;
Tinfoil barb-- 14 inches long and quite tall, needs groups;
Clown loaches-- 12 inches, needs groups;
Mollies-- 8 inches;
Chinese banded shark-- 3-4 feet, needs groups;
Knifefish-- 2 feet

When I first god my chihuahua, I was only working part time, and I lived out of the country where I could bring my dog everywhere. Here I work full time, and I wonder....does my dog get lonely during the day? Does a chihuahua only want to be with it's owner...or does it want a little chihuahua friend? I don't want another dog because I don't think I would love it the same....but if my dog wants a friend...then I would do it. I don't want her to be sad all day long.

By the way, she does not appear sad when I get home. She is always happy to see me.

We have two peach faced lovebirds. One of them plucks excessively and is getting ugly. We have tried everything. We have taken them to a vet and had them tested, there is no medical reason for the plucking. We have changed their diet to something reccomended by our vet and bird breeders. We have introduced more stimulating toys to their environment and bought them a much bigger cage. Two days ago, at the advise of a bird breeder and with our own forethought, we split the birds up. They are siblings and "fight" often. We put their cages adjacent to each other so they wouldn't be too lonely. This is not helping either! The plucking bird just won't stop and I am at a loss for things to try. I really don't want it to go bald, i've seen a bald love bird and it looked so helpless and sick. I'm trying really hard but don't know what to do. I'll take any suggestions.

He hasn't eaten anything today. He takes a few nibbles if kiblets (mixed with premium canned food) and then he has to get a drink of water and then stops eating. He just goes and plays. Does this point to something wrong? Why would he "try" to eat, then need water? I feed him MediCal development formula bought from the vet and the canned is Eagle Pack holistic. He was eating fine since I brought him home from Humane Society 4 weeks ago. He's very playful and seems happy, healthy and is growing. What could be wrong?

Do you believe in breed bans? If so, why? If not, why not?

I don't believe in breed bans because the people who are generally causing the problems with their dogs aren't just disobeying the law with their dog- they usually are dealing drugs, dogfighting, or doing some other form of illegal activity. Tha just means that the responsible people who follow the law won't be able to own their favorite dog anymore, and that specific breed will either go on the black market, or the criminals will move onto another breed. I mean, there's one place with breed bans that just passed a ban on Welsh Corgis. What did they ever do?

I do believe in vicious dog bans. Your dog bites a human, it's gone. Your dog bites another dog, but does not infict damage, that's strike one. Third strike, it's gone. Inflicts some damage, you pay the vet bill, plus a vicious dog fine and have to muzzle the dog in public. Again, 3 strikes rule. Kills another dog, it's gone. And I don't give a damn if the dog is...

The bird is about six years old. It has been doing this for quite some time and has like a bald spot on his back and in the bald spot you can see it's flesh and it is dark red/black from it always being bitten at. If you need any other info I will provide it. I have already taking it to an avian vet.

... I found the mouse after I had let it lick my face and mouth. Haha i wasnt making out with my dog but you know sometimes dogs do that. Anyways she must have killed a mouse early today and been playing with it and chewing on it. Is there anything specific I should do to make sure that I dont catch some sort of disease? Im kind of worried about this so any information would be great.

I dont think I came into direct contact with the mouse, someone else cleaned it up also, but I did have the dog licking my face.

If u answered my question is breeding dogs bad? I am taking him out of the CKC and he is going to a vet that is authorized to check for breeding problems in Washington he will not be being bred a t my uncles anymore he is going to be bred at a very nice kennel he will now be registered at the AKC and will only be bred 2 or 3 times we will charge a stud fee but 50% of the profits is going to the ASPCA for their excellent program if you have a comment or suggestion please enter it below

I just purchased a brand new fish tank and I have four green leaved plants in it, I have had it for 2 days and I just discovered a little snail like creatue in the water licking and sucking on the sides of the tank, and I dont even have any fish yet. Any explanations??

We went on puppyfind.com and found a Norwich Terrier for $950, which was very cheap compared to others on there. The dealer seemed reputable with several excellent reviews, claimed that this puppy was , "registered/registerable (AKC, NKC, etc.)...", and he worked with paypal. When asked about the lineage of the dog, and about AKC numbers, he responded after a week of stalling with a load of garbage about the AKC being a bunch of crooks, that his dogs parents were imported from Belarus and Poland, and that they had superior bloodlines to any AKC dog. After receiving this response, we have terminated the deal and are in process of getting our deposit back. I'm just wondering if this is a common occurance? It's the first time we've tried to buy a dog on the net, and will be our last! By the way, the puppy and listing can be found at puppyfind.com with the name Amallaf2pend. I recently took my cat to a local animal hospital. Patty went in on 22nd and got back home on the 24th, whenever she came home she had a small lump underneath her sutures, i thought it was normal swelling. the next day i noticed the bump had gotten bigger. on the 26th I made an appointment to take her back to the hospital and the doctor told me that it was an abnormally large bump but it was just scar tissue, and if it had gotten any larger to bring her back in. Okay! so today I look at the bump, and it is larger than before. I am going to take her back to the doctors tonight before they close, I called to make this appointment and they tell me if it is a hernia i will have to pay.

Is this actually fair? i dont believe it is because I kept her in a closed cage and I did everything to prevent this from happening.. the doctors told me to watch her and take her home, I just want to hear someone elses opinion. thanks!
