Well, I'm a big of bowfronts. I find they look really fancy. Only catch is that they aren't as wide as regular tanks - they tend to be taller - so you can't stock as heavily.

Bowfronts are nice, all glass of course, I'd only get acrylic if the tank were bigger than 75 gallons. I have a long square 30 gallon though, used for $8 so I wasn't picky. Long tanks are good for fast swimming fish.

I like acrylic tanks-seemless and light. Then you can go topless, either with a clamp on, or use a strip of acrylic and put your light fixture on that. Very clean, very natural...you see more tank, water, plants and fish rather than plastic lid and light.
For glass I like deep tanks...everytime I see one it's just like a blank canvas to me, it's exciting to consider what would look good in there!

i wouldnt just get fish, i would also get ghost shrimp, plants, snails etc. i would probably get some gauramis, tetras, platys, mollies, small sharks, a betta, rainbow skirts, and some other stuff
