If a rabbit has trouble while birthing a baby, she will try to pull them out. Usually the ones that get stuck are dead, so by the time you find it the mother has eatten part of ot to help it get through...imagine a human having a baby stuck for a long time...I wouldn't like it!

Once a rabbit has tasted blood they will kill all their other babies. Also, once a baby has died the mother doesn't recognize it as a baby, and by eating it she can gain back some nutrients...it's a survival thing. Also, a stressful event can cause her to kill her babies, but I haven't ever seen one eat them because of a stressful event.

rabbits are prey animals, and nervous and sometimes fickle,if they get upset in anyway they will eat thier kits, some of the reasons for eating them are too many young born for the mother to take care of,she will eat a few to make sure she has enough milk for those left,if the babies are disturbed and they have a strange smell to them like a human scent the "smelly" baby will be eliminated,if mother is not feeling well or upset for some reason she will eat them also if there are babies born dead,i think the reason for eating them is to eliminate all evidence of the baby, since a "bad" baby laying around would attract attenton to the nest and may bring predators to the nest,it's kind of the kill or be killed theory

Rabbits eat their babies if they feel they can't care for them; for instance, if they are in a place where they are disturbed and don't feel safe.
This is an instinctive behavior which keeps predators from feeding on the babies. For the other rabbits in the vicinity, it is best if the predators don't get fed, so maybe they will move on.

Some people obviously are very ignorant... I'm Muslim and I don't kill my kids...and every other Muslim I know doesn't either...so next time you decide to open your mouth to the public think about what you are saying...I respect every religion and every race...and I expect the same in return...Thank you and no disrespect.... And I never knew rabbits ate babies...kind of disturbing

its a survival thing - if she feels threatened like she can't cope with them, she'll eat them to stop another predator from doing so, finding her too, and this will mean she can come into season again and ahve more soon enough!
