I was thinking about getting a puppy...any way to get one for free or very low cost? SPCA still costs money other than that can't think of anything else

It makes me sick when I hear about people profiting from breeding animals while adding to the out-of-control homeless pet population in the United States. There are so many great pets waiting for homes in shelters that have less of a chance because people insist on breeding animals. Does anyone else see these breeders as selfish people out to make a buck at the expense of our country's homeless pets?

She only pees on my bed and no where else in the house. The only other place she goes is outside, but only when we leave her out there. We've shown her the litterbox, she knows how to use the dog door to the backyard, and we've tried keeping her out of the room, but none of it works. Does anyone have suggestions for effective litterbox training or what it could be that makes her pee only on the bed? Greatly appreciated!!

He does this lately everytime my son is just sitting on the couch. It started about a month ago and is accompanied by him meowing very loudly (the cat not my 11 year-old son). Any ideas why? Is it playing? Is it a dominance thing? He only does it to my son, not me or my wife. We all play with the cat quite often and he always has food available.

I am considering rescuing this dog from the pound that will be put down on Monday. They have had him for 3x longer than usual already(because he is so sweet....they say and so he seems) He looks like a pitbull to me,but they say he is American Bulldog. He was a stray so they can't know for sure. I have little grandchildren that visit 2-3 times a year and I'm a little fearful of pitbulls. What can you guys tell me?

My cat was left outside for about 1 day or less and when she came back she acted differently then before.now she sits down flat with her feetup like as if that part is able 2 walk but the rest cant.she wont stop making noises and wants 2 flip over but she stops half way.i think shes about 1 year old so i dont know if shes even youg enough 2 have any.also i saw here out side that day whith another cat......?something that i also saw was that she wont stop sticking her but up while laying flat.

Ok i have this litter of kittens now about 9 weeks old that appeard infront of my house a while back, there is 6 of them i dont know where they came from or whos they are, and i dont know what to do with the poor things, they wont leave my house or anything, and its to expensive to take care of all 6 kittens, i was wondering if there is anywhere in phoenix arizona that i can take them, i have checked in to so many places but they all want 25$ a kitten, and i dont have that kind of money right now. I know this probably isnt the place to be asking ,but any ideas? its really appriciated , thanks

My dog chews on my clothes and the only safe place is in my closet, not in the laundy basket or in the laundry piles.. I know this is really disgusting but how do I get her to quit??

i am making a stuff cat but i need to know what type of material that is soft like cat fur but i don't want anything that comes from any animal products because i love animals, i want to find what will make my stuff cat look like a real cat that has 'fur' but fake fur please help me fast this is my project and i need to hand in by monday.

Okay, I have this hamster. Well, I've had a few before her. Her name is Pippi.(Like pipsqueak or pippi longstockings) well, my old ham ham used to love it when i held her and put her in her ball. Pippi hates me and acts like she is scared to death of my hand when i gently and barely touch her, and she kind of likes her ball. Is there any way to gain her trust?

The ***** and sire were trying to copulate. Both were very interested and she was standing for him. However, The locking didn't occur. It's hard to explain but, he did ejaculate but they didn't lock completely. She would be approx. 5-6 weeks along and is showing all the symptoms, but I've been told that they have to be locked on for at least 15-30 minutes. Is there a chance that she is pregnant or would it just be a false prenancy?

They are light pink, have a stalk of some type and hair-like 'fingers' waving in the water. They are about a centimeter long, covering glass, plants, and gravel. They seemed to have appeared overnight. Our fish look and act ok. Thanks for any info.

Ok so we thought our bird was a girl, Because our friend who we got her from said she was a she. But as i have been on yahoo answers it say that if a parakeet has a blue Line on the top it is a male and a brown is a female??? My parakeet has a Blue line and We have always thought she was a female. .We have had her for about 2 1/2 years.

This happens a lot when I'm walking my beagle. I don't know how to defend him or even if I should. Sometimes my dog seems excited about the other dog and other times his hackles go up. Should I assume he is a good judge of the other dog's behavior? Even so, then what do I do? I've heard pepper spray is a no-no and maybe a dog whistle would work? Thoughts?
