Look for a no-kill animal shelter in your area. We adopted our cats from a no-kill shelter. The cats were well cared there and the people who volunteered really seemed to enjoy spending their time helping homeless cats and dogs and finding them good homes to live in. Look through your yellow pages for animal shelters. Also, the answer telling you about PetSmart was good too. Give them a call and find out what organization is adopting out and caring for the cats.

If you must take them to a shelter make sure it is a no-kill. You should keep at least two and adopt out the others two and two so each has a sibling. It is not expensive to feed cats good dry and good wet food at major supermarkets. Discounts and specials are always on. At Ralphs, when you spend $100 over time you get $9 of free pet food or any other pet item. They cost about 10 cents a day per kitten/cat. If you can't afford to care for a couple of the cuties then don't have a child. They eat you out of house and home, cry all the time, poop all the time and by the age of five they are either wimps or bullies. When they hit 12 you will spend more time punching them out than patting them on their ratty hair. When you can't stand it anymore and beat the crap out of them CPS shows up and takes them. They get adopted and you don't have any children to take care of you when you are old and poor as a church mouse. Have pussycats, not human children, I say.

Call the humane society or an animal shelter, they should pick them up for free. How about posting some ads like at the grocery store, light posts, library. You could also take them to a public place and people will most likely approach you and you can give them away.

Allot of newspapers allow for "free" ads to be placed for "free" Kittens generally go fast if you do place an ad. Or try talking to a local pet store about them taking them in and adopting them out. Explain you found them that they are not yours. Try putting bulletins up at local laundry mats, stores, etc (if they are allowed)

Pet stores should not be wanting you to pay them. What you need to do is go to a humane society and tell them these kittens mean a lot to you so you want them to go to good homes. Also tell them if someone doesnt purchase them in a number of weeks please call me to come and get them. I do not want them uthanized. Thats pretty much all you have to say.

If you put kittens in the newpaper people with snakes will fake they want one and feed it to their smake. not all people do this though.

Contact your local humane society or animal control. You can take them there without "making a donation"

You can also place an ad in the paper sell them for $5 - $10 each use the money to pay for the ad. The extra keep.
