I think my coketiels have finally been able to produce an egg that was able to hatch. I am unsure cause they won't let me see, which is fine (protective instincts and all). I just want to make sure that there is nothing extra special I need to do to make sure this baby (if there is one) is able to grow up.

I just got an English Bulldog today, we picked her up from a rescue place in Kansas. We got her to walk around earlyer today, but now she found a blanket be left on the floor and is refusing to get off. She is holding on for dear life when we tryed to move the blanket from one room to another. We finaly got her to move and she jumped on the couch and did the same thing agian, we finaly had to start tipping the couch to get her off. Could it be possable that she got pregnet with one of the male dogs at the shelter, she hasent been fixed yet. I know this is not normal behavior for a dog and could she maybe be in labor? Or am I just an idiot who dont know what he is talking about, this is our secoind bulldog so I know this isnt normal

I work weekends at a dog/cat boarding kennel, which means i am constantly in contact with a circulating bunch of ALOT of dogs & cats.

I am very paranoid, almost obsessive-compulsive, when it comes to contagious things such as ringworm & mange & other hideous little bugs that can be passed to humans...& there are a number of animals at the kennel that have hairless patches on their skin & other nasty looking little skin disorders [my boss just calls it "dermatitis" which could be what the owners have told them it is, & some dogs have medications for dermatological disorders....]

I HATE IT! I mean, I wash my hands alot while I am working there, but is there any other way that I can reduce my chances of getting ringworm from these animals [cats can even carry it without showing symptoms]. I am freaked out...it makes me itchy just thinking about it! it is not practical to wear gloves while working there.

well the problem is that i cant bring him in for a certain amount of reasons.one is not just because he sheds alot, but because he is a little wild. we've brought him in before and hes done alooot of damage to our house.he's chewed on alot of things, and messed up our dinner table.he is always well fed with good quality food. he doesnt seem to have a problem outside, there is a very big shed-like thing that he can wander in and out of.

I was just wondering what certain vaccinations:
-actually prevent in dogs
-how long they last
-which ones need to be renewed every year
I'm just curious because I was asked if my dog was up to date in her vaccinations and I honestly didn't know. She has had the distemper, parvovirus, adenovirus type 2, parainfluenza, bordetella, and rabies done in August of 2006. Do any of these need to be renewed before I get her spayed in Febuary??

I keep the garbage from the week outside my small deck in the backyard and I just noticed there are two cats, one fairly mature and one kitten. They have been going through the garbage, and as it is currently winter here in toronto (temperture 20 F), and right now there is a foot and a half of snow, is there any chance they might die? Both are longhair, but both are covered in snow, completely wet. As I found them today, they ran off. What can I do, I'd hate to see these poor creatures freeze to death..

My 13 year old daughter has been asking me for a puppy since late last year. She researched a few breeds (Lab, GSD, Golden Retriever etc.) and she knows a lot about them as she has been researching for over a year now. She is pretty sure she wants a Lab and she told me she would pay half of the cost of the dog (approx. $400) with her B'day and Xmas money. Ella is very responsible, goes to school, studies hard, loves animals and will be very comitted to the dog for the rest of her life. I told her I'd think about it but I'm not sure if I should get one. I'm the only one working. My husband has been out of work for 3 years and we aren't very financially stable. We are ALL overweight and a dog could benefit us a LOT. I know there are many things to consider when buying a dog and I was just wondering, could anybody give me some advice on what to do? Also, any other **BREED SUGGESTIONS** would be good. I also have an 11 year old son and 2 kittens so the dog must LOVE CHILDREN and LOVE CATS.
