Look for a reputable breeder in your area - Do a search on "Pit Bull puppies san francisco" and you'll come up with a lot of hits. Be willing to drive a few hours if you need to, so also check out Sacramento, South Bay, etc...
Make sure you check their references, good breeders will be happy to provide them. Don't answer people here on YA or buy online, lots of scams running where you send the money & never see the dog...

which bay?
Sturgeon Bay? Muskegon Bay?
San Francisco Bay? Chesapeke Bay?
Bay of Pigs (thats in Cuba, it's not an insult)?
I would think your local newspaper, The ___ Bay Times would have a "Pets for Sale" column, and you might find some there.
Or try craigslist.com--you could put "wanted, pit bull" in the Pets Section...just click on your state, the city nearest you, and then take it from there.

check www.petfinder.com, that way you are getting the dog that you want and savingit's life at the same time, as well as making room in a shelter for another dog to be saved.
Three birds with one stone....

Please rescue your pitbull. Shelters everywhere are overrun with them because people aren't as willing to adopt them as other breeds...even though they make wonderful pets.
