I just got an English Bulldog today, we picked her up from a rescue place in Kansas. We got her to walk around earlyer today, but now she found a blanket be left on the floor and is refusing to get off. She is holding on for dear life when we tryed to move the blanket from one room to another. We finaly got her to move and she jumped on the couch and did the same thing agian, we finaly had to start tipping the couch to get her off. Could it be possable that she got pregnet with one of the male dogs at the shelter, she hasent been fixed yet. I know this is not normal behavior for a dog and could she maybe be in labor? Or am I just an idiot who dont know what he is talking about, this is our secoind bulldog so I know this isnt normal

It sounds like she just needs time to adjust to her new home. She's found comfort in the blanket and that's a good thing. She's in a new environment and probably scared to death right now! You don't know her past situation for sure (Anyone can say anything when they drop a dog off at a rescue...), so you just need to be patient through the adjustment period and let her know she's in a loving home now.

In any case, you should take her to the Vet to get her checked out within the next week, they'll be able to tell you if she's pregnant or not.

Well, you would know if she was pregnant by looking at her teats. If they look big and Dangly and she has a really tight tummy she just might be. If she is pregnant you would also be able to feel the puppies move around in her tummy. You could take her to the vet to check if she is pregnant. They usually give pregnancy tests at animal shelters and they don't put males and females together as far as I know. Also try and remember, all dogs are different just like people. You got her from a shelter and you have no idea what she was accustomed to before she got there. It could just be the way she behaves.

Being in a shelter and then going to a new home is very tramatic for a dog. She found a blanket she likes and now wants it for security. Give her some time. Since you got her from a shelter you still want to take her to the vet at least for a wellness check.
I dought she's pregnant they dont put females in heat in with males not unless they want a major fight on their hands. I'm surprised she's not spade usually rescues require spading.

Well all dogs have different personality's. She just may be Lazy. A way to check if she is pregnant is look at her teats. If they have started to drop or if she is pulling hair away from them, or if they look swollen. You can also put your hand at the bottom of her belly, push in a little and if you feel little bumps she may be. But unless you take her in to be checked your not going to know for sure for a while... until she starts to get bigger or leaking milk.

every dog has a different personality. this new addition may just need time to adjust to new surroundings. were the staff where you got her from able to give you information on what her life was like before you adopted her? at the shelter i volunteer at the intact males and females never came into contact. take her for an ultrasound for definite answer

I dont think she is pregnant. I think she has domiance issues. This may be the reason she was in rescue. She needs to be sprayed and she need to be checked out by a vet. First don't allow her to be the boss. Sounds like she came into her new home and took over. I don't know how old she is but even older dogs can learn new things. She need to know her place in her new home. Good luck!

Vanquish: The mucus plug kinds contained in the vagina, on the cervix. that is the same for all mammals. If there is any seen mucus on the outdoors of the vagina, extraordinarily if it is eco-friendly or another off colour, it is an indication of a doubtlessly deadly concern and desires to be evaluated through a vet straight away.

Have you palpated her stomach to see if you can feel any puppies in her? Or checked her nipples to see if they are swollen or her vagina? Those are all ways to check and if she is that close to delivery, you'd be able to tell by looking at her as well. All new dogs should be seen by a vet right away after adopting anyway so have the vet check her as well.
