If your cat is approximately 5 months of age or older and is not fixed then she is capable of becoming pregnant.
It is difficult for me to understand what you mean by the first part of your description, but the behavior she displays by sticking her butt in the air while laying flat is characteristic of a cat in heat. You may also notice mucus-y discharge from her vaginal area.
From what I understand cats are capable of being triggered into going into heat by being around an un-fixed male cat. However they also will have heat cycles of their own without being subjected to a male.
Whether or not your cat is pregnant I can not determine. I do think it is likely that she is at least in heat. Also I would continue to monitor her behavior as well as her activity level, gait and eating habits. If she is not used to being outside (and even if she is) it is possible she may have been injured or eaten something she shouldn't. Should the behavior continue for more than a couple of days or her eating habits or gait change I would contact your veterinarian.

she is in heat, and yes she can very well be pregnant. Why did you not have her spayed!!! Cats can get pregnant as early as 6 months of age. You can still get her spayed while pregnant if she is not too far along, and if you do not want to contribute to the already out of control pet overpopulation problem. If you are going to own a cat you really need to educate yourself, and should of had your cat spayed or at least NOT let her out if you were not going to spay her.

ALWAYS have your pets fixed. Take your cat to the vet and make sure it's not pregnant so she can be fixed. She will be a happier cat and you will be a happier owner by not having to deal with her going into heat and worrying about her getting out and adding those kittens to the overpopulated pounds.

Sounds like she is in heat. A male cat can induce a female to go into heat by continuously mounting them, it is brutal for the female. So she may be in heat or she may have been mated. The only way to know for sure is to take her to the vet and please for the love of all that is holy, if you are going to keep her, have her spayed.
Good Luck!!

those are classic signs that your cat is in heat... unless you want to breed er, you need to get her spayed right away otherwise, if she does get out again, she may well return pregnant (if she isn't already).
