Hello. I just adopted a 3 year old purebred standard Dachshund female from a free classified ads website. I adopted her on January 11th, 2007. I do want to breed her and have a purebred Dachshund male as well. I thought that my male Dachshund, Monty, would show some interest in Ashley right away. However, when he first seen her he looked at her like she's an intruder and barked. Monty's an outdoor dog and she's an indoor dog by the way. She took off running back toward the screen door and would not go near him.

We get along great. As a matter of fact, I get along better with Ashley than with Monty. She's always by my side and always is bouncing off the walls with happiness when I walk in through the front door.

I'm not sure why Monty is not showing any interest in her. I thought because she's female he'd want to mate with her right away. Or is it only when she's in heat? Or is it possible that if she's already pregnant that that's why he's not interested in her?

Our dog Buddy is constantly jumping on our sliding glass door to get inside. He does perfect to get outside, he just rings a bell with his nose, but he is over 1 and he won't stop, and he just taught our new puppy how to. He's a good dog, it's just he needs to learn how to be civilized :-P

I already have a Min Pin who is easy enough to deal with. She loves other dogs and I have found a Boston Terrier 4 month old pup who both me and my Min Pin have fallen for. I've done some research on the Boston breed but have never owned one. Can anyone with Boston Terrier expeirence just tell me what their dealings with Bostons have been like? I have a JAck Russell he's 6 years old, and a day ago i noticed that he was shaking alot, he wouldnt eat a thing unless it was in my hand, he doesnt bark nor play around, he will wag his tail just a bit and sleep, before i make an appt. with the vet..... does any one know what could be happening ?

I have a 3 year old female miniature pinscher, and she does not like other dogs. Shes never really been around another dog, but the few times she has (around our apartment complex) she has become very aggresive towards them. My mom is getting a female puppy and I told her I would dog sit if she ever went on vacation (maybe once a year). I was planning on bringing her dog into my apartment to watch it. I have 13 cats at home actually, 4 are persian and the rest are stray cats which i saved it from the street abandoned by irresponsible owners. My dad, he feeds cat's food in can to 4 stray cats living outside my home and we feed Science Diet (chicken flavor) for adults to our cats. I read some of the questions from yahoo and I found out that Tuna is fatal to cats? why is it so? and what type of cat food (flavor) or any specific diet that is good for cats? Please tell me which best for my cats and which food that we need to avoid from giving to our cats?

and the last question is : is it necessary to give them an annual vaccination? because some of my cats didnt had any annual vaccination because they are not allowed to roam outside my home, my home is always clean, my mom sweep and vaccum the floor everyday and we replace fresh water to my cats that's why we didnt give annual vaccination.

PS : i LOVE them very much and it's a pain if i have to see them suffer for consuming wrong foo

This fish is a live breeder we woke up one day and the tank had 8 additional fish all look the same as the original. the fish was given to us we didn't expect to wake up one day to 8 babies they all have very dark black spots all over them.

my boxer has blood in her stool ,i took her to the vet last wednesday , they said it was whippet worms and gave her med for it , she passed no worms and is still having the problem, i'm taking her back tomorrow , what should i ask them to test for , any suggestions ? other than this she is very healthy , she is a 68 pound boxer , 2 years old and she was spayed in december , i've had dogs for years and never dealt with this and i know it isn't contagious or the others would also have it , i got 6 dogs altogether and she has 2 puppies that play with her all day that are doing fine
