Ok my horse is a Dark Bay thoroughbred X and his name is Tj. I was wanting a new show name for him because I don't like the one his has now, it's Tall, Dark and Handsome. I don't really want it to have his barn name in it but it doesn't matter. I do hunters and jumpers on him. I don't want the show name to be too long but I don't mind if it's one word. PLEASE HELPP!!!!

Honestly. The government controls everything else, why don't they control who can and can't own a dog? Maybe if they at least controlled who can own an intact dog, the dog population would be smaller. So many dogs get abused and so many get abandoned. And so many idiots get ahold of intact dogs, then breed them! I have a friend who somehow got ahold of a pit bull puppy that was 6 weeks old, underweight, and wormy! The dad of this dog was a 3 legged fighter! I hope I can find that person so I can bust them.

My mother has a 10 week old kitten that often poops and pees on her bed instead of the litter. She has stuck the litter tray on top of the bed hoping that this will solve the problem. Is there a way to train a kitten to use its litter if you cannot be watching it constantly?

I just adopted a pet from my local animal shelter. They told me that the animal will need a microchip (not optional) before I can take her home. Sorry to sound so behind the times, but does anyone know when this practice of microchipping pets started?

I have a baby Sulcuta tortoise and he is very sick. He has not eaten anything for about 5 days and he will not open his eyes. I have been soaking him everyday and I am giving him a Ampicillin soak right now. Is there anything that I can do. If something doesnt happen he is going to die soon. He has also pooped out a white pussy substance twice today.

I had a friends tell me to used finely shredded newspaper (Not colored newspaper, just the black and white sheets) as kitty litter in place of the store bought kind. She said it was a good way to recycle, and it absorbs the moisture as well as the store bought litter. My question is... Is it safe for cats to use newspaper? I am all about recycling (and saving money!), but I dont want to try it if it is gonna be harmful to my cats. TIA!

Just out of curiousity, I am wodering how does aquartic plants such as baby tears start off? Do they start out as a seed or u have to have its stem or roots to grow it? I saw this topic on this aquartic plant forum saying that there r bulb of a plant that u can dump into the water and in a week it will start growing. Anyone can provide me some information on these?? I want to add some more plants but I want to start them off as a seed or bulb. Also any idea where I can get them? I checked my LFS already they dont have such things. Any online sites that sells it would be nice. Thanks for the helps.

I have two male dogs, one a year and a half old and the other is one year old. Both are fixed. They are constantly humping each other. How do I get them to stop? I don't think it is a dominance issue - neither of them really show any other dominance related behavior. Both were fixed at an early age. Is this just a phase?

He is a bit constipated, but still poops about once a day. I just have not seen him hike his leg for 2 days. He is drinking water - not massive quantities, but some. He is not acting weird or anything. I was just wondering as I am new to owning a small dog.

I have had a 3yr old Ragdoll cat for a month now. It is possible that she is pregnant, but she won't come out of hiding. She comes out at night to eat and use her box. I talk to her every evening and have tried offering her treats. She just hisses and one night actually bit my husband who tried to pick her up. If she is pregnant she will be due around 2/8. Will she freak out when I try to handle her kittens. What if she needs my help during birth? What can I do to speed up this process of bonding with her? When I bought her from the breeder she was friendly and rubbed up and down my arm. Since she bit my husband, I am now afraid of her. I had her bred for the purpose of keeping a kitten and selling the others, not knowing she would be so difficult. This type of behavior isn't characteristic of this type of cat. It make me wonder how much human interaction she has actually had. It is very important that the kittens arrive safely. Is it possible that she might harm her kittens? HELP

Two brothers have been found guilty of animal cruelty for allowing their pet dog's weight to exceed more than 11 stone. Derek and David Benton were convicted of causing unnecessary suffering to their dog Rusty by overfeeding. The pair, aged 62 and 53 respectively, from Fordham, Cambridgeshire, allowed the dog's weight to rise from eight to more than 11-and-a-half-stone in two years. RSPCA inspectors say the Bentons failed to give Rusty an appropriate diet and allowed the dog to become "hugely and grossly" overweight. The brothers said the dog is overweight because it has arthritis and cannot exercise easily.

Their lawyer, Ann-Marie Gregory, told magistrates in Ely, Cambridgeshire: "They are not specialist dog trainers. They are not specialist Labrador trainers. They are common or garden dog owners." The RSPCA had spent more than £3,000 trying to reduce the dog's weight in recent months. She added: "How many people have £3,000 in their pocket to spend on their pet dog?". Miss Gregory said there was no evidence that the dog had been "stuffed" with treats or overfed. She said the Bentons fed him a small bowl of dog food in the mornings and the evenings and gave him a bone as a treat on a Saturday.

Prosecutor Stephen Climie refuted her suggestions that the prosecution was a "test case". "This is not a test case," he said. "This is a case peculiar to its facts." The brothers denied any offence. RSPCA inspectors took the dog from the brothers in March and since then it has lost three-and-a-half stones under the guidance of vets.

That's pretty good they can do this for a dog - next step, parents who feed their kids so much that they become grossly overweight. Imagine a dog having better protection against this type of abuse than children?

I have been using large rocks as land in my turtle tank, which is what I have been doing for turtles in the past for a long time. My newest turtle has been eating and pooping out rocks. They are very large, I didnt think they could even fit in his mouth. Why is he doing this? I'm worried that my turtle has more rocks inside of him. How do I know if he has rocks in his stomach and cant pass them? Should I take him to the vet? And what can I use for land as an alternative?
