A cat licks another cat on the top of its head. I have two birmin cats a male and a female arouned the same age. They get on quite well together, but sometimes have this thing of one licking the other on the head which can often result in a bit of a fight. Does anyone know why this is?

Kittens are approx 16 wks old and we've had them for a month. They will come to us to take food out of our hands but wont let us touch them. Some people have suggested cornering them, getting them in a towel and carrying them around. What does everyone think? I tried this with one of them all it did was scare him. Do we wait for them to come to us? Will they ever?

My cat hurt her foot and had to have stitches put in this morning. We're going to pick her up this afternoon. The vet told us that we must try our best to keep the bandage on so that she doesn't bite open her stitches. Do you have any suggestions on how to stop her from pulling off the bandage? Thanks

About two months ago a friend of ours left us with his two zebra finches. One female and the other is male. They are doing allright and nothing seems wrong with them but since Thursday (today is saturday) the male finch is pluckinng the female's feathers. I don't know much about birds and I am trying my hardest to get familiar with them. So what does this behaviour mean? Could you please help me? Thank you very much.

One of my dogs has a little sore patch on his back leg, and he's making it worse by constantly licking it.
We could put a lampshade bucket thingy on his collar, but it really wouldnt stop him due to the position of the sore on his back leg. He would still be able to reach it.
Is there a product available that we an apply to the fur surrounding the sore patch, which will make it taste unpleasant and so deter him from wanting to lick at it?
Something similar to the stuff you can put on childrens fingernails to stop them from biting their nails?

My 2 male dwarf hamsters, about 6 months old were fighting for about a week, then one got really violent and badly scratched the other, so i took the violent one out and had to buy a new cage for it, but the new cage is different to the other and he doesn't like it. He stays in his little sleeping area all the time, he is hardly eating at all and drinks very little. He was shy when i first got him but he then became less shy and have recently been able to hold him without him struggling, but now in his new cage, if i put a hand in he runs away scared of me, he has changed so much in his personality and i'm worried if he carries on like this he'll die, please can somebody give me some advice as i am so worried about him! Thanks a lot

We have a middle aged rescue beagle that has a good temperament. She has two strange behaviours that I hope soeone can explain what they mean.

The first is that the dog loves to get up in her owner's faces. Sometimes, she'll paw at our faces or get her head as close as possible to us. After she's able to do this, she goes off and does other things, but still does this action a lot. what does it mean?

Sometimes the dog will try to dig through the couch cushions and/or root around in and under pillows and blankets. However, she usually sleeps in her crate or dog bed. what is she doing this for?

I am looking to open up some fun for all dog owners and I would like to have an opinion from everyone. Here is my idea:

Open up a cool dog blog site for millions of dog owners and their pets to have fun with others. Plus you can win cool prizes and contests. Additionally they can shop through a mini store and search advertisements from other dog boutiques etc... But, there is a fee for 5 dollars a month, to support dogs in shelters, etc. Would this be an awesome ideas? Would you join in the fun? What could I do to make it even better?

Thanks for all your help!!!! Any opinions thank you!!!

My next oor neighbours cat has moved in. in general she's well behaves and no hassle. However recently she has been pooping, peeing and being sick in our living room and on our beds. we have now closed all the doors so she can't get into any rooms unless we're there too. So she seems to have taken to doing it on her own bed. She is quite old, we think 16-18. HELP!

Yet these people who come in and complain are the ones who stand there at the windows and bash on the doors and scream at them? These are also the people who come in a scream at other customers-people who love their animals, when they are trying to buy something? What do people think this is going to prove? Your not only going to give my animals a headache and get them stress- oh and hold on cause they are stressed they get sick. But these people are also giving my customers a headache- don't know about you but when I'm shopping I want to talk to the sales person particularly if I want animal products- There is so much involved with these products!!! Sorry if this is not you but this happens too often and I thought this woud be a great place to share it and see the respose!

can female bettas live the same way as male bettas?

I know in isolation, the males build those bubble nests and can live in a little bowl even a plant vase, but can the females? Thanks for your input.

We get dogs, then start punishing them for doing things they are instinctually driven to do. They like pee and poop and use it for communication. But oh, if a dog potties somewhere a person objects to, we smash his face into it, spank him, whap him with a newspaper, yell, stomp, whatever.

Some breeds of dogs have been selected to carry things in their mouths, but oh! If you Golden Retriever starts stealing things, they get beaten, yelled at, kicked, Alpha Rolled, tssted, all kinds of things.
