I already have a Min Pin who is easy enough to deal with. She loves other dogs and I have found a Boston Terrier 4 month old pup who both me and my Min Pin have fallen for. I've done some research on the Boston breed but have never owned one. Can anyone with Boston Terrier expeirence just tell me what their dealings with Bostons have been like? What are some pros and cons? Thanks so much!

Boston Terriors are as good as their breeders. If breed right and not inbreed as the last case I ran across, they are a wonderful dog. Be careful, I love the breed and was much to trusting with the last Boston we purchased. It was a cute little thing but had behavior nothing short of challenged. It was heart breaking. I grew up with a Boston Terrior, she was as smart as a whip, a bundle of energy, friendly to all and a member of the family. She even protected my first born child like he was her own, even tho she never had her own puppys or been around baby's before.
After we had a couple more children we decided to get another AKC Boston Terrior, a female and then since they were so hard to find we bought an AKC registered male Boston Terrior from another area of the country. Those two went on to have three litters of puppys. It was a wonderful experience for our family. For the health of our female we stopped breeding after three, as she was very hyper and did not gain as much weight as we would have liked her to.
After Bostons were used on TV commercials we noticed over breeding and probably the reason for the inbreeding we experienced. Greed can bring out the worst in people. It is a shame such a nice animal has to pay the price. I guess you can find this in a lot of breeds. So my advice is a well breed Boston Terrior is a great family pet. Check for AKC papers and do not buy one without them.

From the research I've done, although I am not an owner, they are quite hyper and intelligent. This means they are often quite destructive because they get bored easily and are naturally agressive. I also hear they are not the best pet for kids because they can get real "pissy" and might be prone to nipping the little ones who bug them too much. Seems like a good young adult dog who has the TIME to train this intelligent little bugger - otherwise you're in for a Boston Terror!

My daughter has a Boston Terrier. He is a wonderful pet. Very loyal, and a good dog. He is very hyper, though, but, learns easily. They make nice pets, if you keep on top of them and teach them right from wrong.

no individual breed is more effective perfect than the different. although, in analyzing your living surroundings and artwork agenda, I do ought to accept as true with all and diverse else the following who says that that is likely no longer the perfect time that attempt to be getting a canines. highly because you assert that you want a 'low upkeep' canines and function no adventure with preparation. Neither breed is 'low upkeep', and both require some preparation it truly is very time ingesting. Wait till you're in a more effective perfect situation which will aid you the time it calls for to spend with a canines.

If you have a minpin I wold think that a boston wouldn't be much more of a challenge for you. Boston terriers are high energy dogs, but full of love! they are smart, protective, and kissing machines. Great dogs! just a little high maintenance, but all great dogs are.
