My dog hates dogs and Im going to dogsit a puppy?

I have a 3 year old female miniature pinscher, and she does not like other dogs. Shes never really been around another dog, but the few times she has (around our apartment complex) she has become very aggresive towards them. My mom is getting a female puppy and I told her I would dog sit if she ever went on vacation (maybe once a year). I was planning on bringing her dog into my apartment to watch it. Is there any way that these two dogs can get along? How can I make this happen?

Let them get to know eachother through short, controlled visits before ever have the puppy stay the night. When you do, and you still don't trust your dog, make sure they BOTH have crates to sleep in. That way neither feels misstreeted by being locked up.

When your mom gets a puppy, have her bring it over for supervised visits. Short visits at first, then longer ones. Let your dog get used to seeing it there in your home. Your dog may actually want to mother it.

what i would do is if u have a friend that has a dog i would take ur dog around other dogs. she is used to it just her and no other dog being around. she is just jealous cuz there is another dog around. she thinks that she won't get any attention from anybody else.

do you own a gate that can divide them into separate rooms , if the dog gets hurt you could be paying expensive vet care , good luck

If your dog doesn't like other dogs, consider taking it to a training class at a shelter, private lessons.

well you can hold them both and see if they are snapping if they are it will take quit a few days to get them along if you do not what them to bight you can put them in seperit rooms
