He's a year old, a pomeranian cross corgi (very cute, very hyper). I usually walk him for about an hour a day, with a bit of jogging mixed in. I take him for a shorter, slower walk in the evening. Is this enough or too much?

Our male cat, who is around 10 yrs old is starting to lose weight. He is a Main Coon cat who is usually a bit overweight (around 19 lbs) and, though we don't have a scale to weigh him on in our home, he is definately showing signs that he's losing quite a bit of weight recently.
We couldn't usually feel his ribs/spine, but now they seem quite prominent. He is only eating half of the food we give him also. He's not really acting too differently or meowing like he's in pain, so we can't figure out why he's losing lbs. Other than taking him to a vet, is there any other reason he would be changing like this, he's not all that old yet.

Actually my pet(4 months old cat)had undergone a sterilization operation 15 days back on 1.1.2007.an incision was made on the right side of the abdomen and closed by staplers.ten days after the surgery a small swelling appeared around the incision area and started oozing out the pus.then i consulted my vet and he gave penicillin injection along with oral antibiotics.but he told no need to drain the pus.after that the swelling subsides but again swelling start appearing now.but my cat is active only.in my native place no care is given for cats(compared to dogs and other animals) from the vet side.so please anyone give me suggestions(please ask your veterinarian).I'm a medical student so give suggestions so that i can execute any procedures safely.

Is it true that when dogs are about to die, they go somewhere to be a lone and dig a hole?
If this is true it would really reassure me.

She is four years old, a beautiful, sweet Abyssinian/Somali mix. When I took her to the vet for this a year ago, he said there was no fungus or any other type of physical reason. She's losing hair on both her sides. Her hair is dull, yet, she is playful and eats well. She seems VERY jealous of our other cat, Naomi, in which they are only about 18 months apart. Naomi was a kitten when we introduced her to Molly. Molly intimidates Naomi all the time. She has, just in the last 3 months, defecated oustide of the litter box, maybe 3 or 4 times. They shared same box all their lives. No litter change, ever. When I play with Naomi, the poor thing is constantly & nervously looking to see if Molly is in the background, giving her the "evil eye." And, usually, that's exactly what Molly is doing! I've been awakened from a sound sleep by growling, hissing, & meowing. They are "indoor" cats 95% of the time...at times I let them out on a collar and a 4 ft. leash, 1/2 hr. daily at most.

My little mini-lop Clover escaped about ten months ago when two huge dogs attacked her hutch and ripped part of the roof off. Now, ten months later, she has come back - I don't know where she has been, as I searched for her for weeks everywhere I could think of, and had food out for months in case she came home. But back in her hutch she seems sad - maybe bad memories? She is cuddled lots every day, let roam on a bunny leash and given many treats and much affection and grooming. I now have two seal point mini-lops who are sisters, who I will introduce to Clover once she has been given the all-clear health-wise, but is there anything I can do to make her feel safe and at home again?

I am trying to figure out what this dogs name is. He is this little dog, w/ white fur, looks just like a teddy bear. And each month he is in a different costume. Or maybe what is the name of the author that makes the calendar? Thanks..

I'm very interested in knowing what it means when they want to press their head into yours; What it means when they rub their saliva glands on your hand; and other physical means of communication - what's positive and/or negative.

I have had Astar for 9 months now. She is approximately under 2 years old and a mix of rotweiler and blue tick. I don't know much about her previous home except that her owners were going to shoot her. Overall she is an excellant dog! (ex. she loves playing fetch/ tug of war, sits, laysdown) The only problem is that when my kids are at school she acts scared of me and sometimes will urinate a little if I approach her. Also she does this when I raise my voice. Besides myself there are three other people in the house but I'm the only one she acts this way towards. I can't understand why or figure out what i can do to help her overcome being scared of me, considering I have never hurt or layed a hand on her. Any advise would be greatly appriciated! Thanks!

Our entire backyard porch is covered and she is sleeping under the porch on a large rug. She is not shivering or anything. I just don't know whether to bring her inside or put her in the garage. It is also sprinkling, but she is just sleeping on the rug.

I adopted a puppy the other day and he seems to be shaking all the time. When I set him on the ground outside he skaes, when he is wet, when he is alone, or when I first pick him up. I am wondering what it could be from and how to make himmore comfortable. He is a rat terrier, jack, sheltie mix. He has taken to a blanket so him sleeping is a little better. Thanks

Why does my cat sneeze so much? She doesn't just sneeze once either. It's like 2 or 3 or 4 sneezes one right after another.
