It's TOO COLD! What the heck is the matter with you? A large rug under the porch is not adequate protection for a puppy. You should NOT own a dog. You sound like you yourself have not got sense enough to come in out of the rain! Bring the puppy INSIDE where it's warm and dry. I am reporting you to the ASPCA for animal cruelty.

Yes it is to cold for a dog to be out let alone a puppy for more than a few minutes for potty time. It is one thing when a dog/puppy is running and playing outside because they build up heat but to leave a puppy outside under a porch on a rug just isn't going to keep the puppy warm.

Its way too cold for a puppy to be outside. Even if she is ok she needs at the least a doghouse with plenty of warm blankets. Please take her in your garage and give her more than a rug to sleep on. She may have a fur coat but that is nowhere near enough for steady cold on a puppy.
I really dont want to be mean but if you had to ask why didnt you just move her? You had to have known she needed it! Now go get her a proper doghouse tomorrow.

Why get a dog, she needs human companionship, outside, 30 degrees, under the porch on a rug.
Give me a break, bring the pup in the house.
You go lay on the rug for an hour and see how you feel.

Why is your pup outside? My sister's husband grew up believing dogs were to be outside. They compromised by designating an area of the house for the dog to be in. The dog appreciates this and does not go into the carpeted rooms, bedrooms, etc. He is happy to be in the kitchen area with his bed. I love having my dogs in the house, wherever, whenever. I don't understand why you'd have your puppy out in the cold. She's a pack animal and would be happy to be inside with you.

I would bring her in,especially if it is sprinkling. 40 degrees and above is a good rule of thumb I think. Also, pups and elderly dogs don't aways have the immune system they would need to fight something off if they do get sick.
Hope this helps:)

If you think it's too cold for you to be outside, than it's too cold for your dog to be outside. The same goes for heat. If it's too hot for you to be outside, then it's too hot for your dog to be outside. If you can't put your dog inside with you...which would be better, so she will have company....then put her in the garage as long as it is heated. Turn on a radio or TV so she won't feel so lonely.

oh yes please bring her inside, the reason shes not shaking is becuase she is using her body fat to keep her warm, after maybe a day or two, any dog will become skinny and you will have some problems. please, even if she isnt showing any signs of discomfort, she IS cold, and i beleive she would love to be inside where its warm with her familey! lol, i know you love her, i hope i didnt sound like a tree hugger! but if you cant keep her inside, feed her 3, or 4 times a day, as much as she wants, and give her an extra thick blanket or a couple of towels.

I would bring her in the house, not the garage. It's below freezing and the garage is going to be cold. It's always better to be safe than sorry!

Get yourself a dog crate and train her to stay in there at night. 30 degrees is too cold outside for her. She needs to be with her buddy.......YOU!
