I have a gorgeous Russian Dwarf hamster (female) and everyone loves her, I decided to breed her, as a few friends have requested to have one for her babies. I bought another Russian Dwarf (male) and after an hour of being in the same cage, he was all over my female. He wouldnt stop humping her for a minute! She didnt seem to be happy about it or very willing (but she didnt fight with him) so Im nto sure if she is pregnant! That was Jan 1st, which means by now she should be fatter, but shes not really. But shes gone insane! Hiding all the food, nesting and shes really jumpy. But her tummy isnt firm or bigger. They havent tried to mate again, yet she isnt fat yet... Im sooooo confused. Is she pregnant, or is she going crazy?!

My oldest son has moved out now but whenever he comes over for a visit my dog Misty is very afraid of him.She barks and hides and runs around like she thinks he is going to hurt her.He never has done anything bad to her.She just has never liked him.She growls at him if he comes close to her when she is in my lap and sometimes she will even shiver she is so scared.When my son still lived at home sometimes we would argue and shout.Do you think she remembers this and does not trust him?Why would she not be afraid of me to if that was the case.How can I get her to accept him and not be afraid.He comes over most weekends and stays with us and I dont want her to be upset by his visit.

It's a 3 month old husky/lab mix, it seems very intelligent and has taken well to housebreaking so far, with just a couple accidents. But so far I know nothing about raising a dog (well, technically it's my mom's dog anyways, but SHE'S not finding anything out...) so does anyone have any advice? Oh also I have a cat and a hamster, how do I introduce them so that they don't try to kill each other?

well i have a medium sized yard and my cocker spaniel has it all to her self theres a concrete area so she files down her nails but latly i got tierd of walking her because i try teaching her and she wont listen every time we went for a walk she pulls,sits down and i would have to pick her up and cary her if not then i would end up tied up of how many times she went this way and that untill i had to stop to untie myself and i hated it cause a walk is a time to enjoy your dog and your dog enjoy you but i don enjoy it at ALL i end up frustrated so what can i do to help my dog behave on walks like what kind of tequniques can i teach her or how can i teach her without going poor any book recomendations or like that i can do at home ?

my barrel horse refuses to go into the arena at barrel races but she is not arena sour its like she gets so nervous that she doesnt want to go in but after we get her in the aren she runs 16's and 17's on the patterns so what should i do to fix this and exactly why is she doing this?????

Don't they realize that most areas have fines for releasing non-native species into the wild? What about the effects of a captive lifestyle upon an animal? Or introduction of parasites and diseases into wild populations?
"Oh, they have instincts, they'll be fine." No, they won't. If they don't learn the hard way how to stay away from raccoons, hawks, alligators, otters, whatever other native predators including cars you have in your area while they're young, how are they gonna learn now? Also, instinct doesn't have any effect upon climactic differences between where that animal is native to and the pond in your backyard or at a park or down the street, whatever. And if it DOES manage to beat the odds and live, things like this happen:
