Are your parents against you getting a puppy? Is that why they didn't get you one, or they just hadn't found the right one? Or, are you an adult and wanted one from your husband, but didn't get it?

The reason I am asking is because if not everyone in the household is in agreement about getting a puppy, then it's usually not a good idea. They will grow to resent the puppy and maybe even you and it's not fair to the pup. But good luck. Some options are http://www.petfinder.com

Look, don't get a pet and then expect someone else to take care of it. It takes alot. Pets require exams and shots and daily walks, food and water..
And neutering, unless you're planning to be a breeder. Harsh as it may sound, I'm guessing that whomever you asked for the puppy thought you wouldn't take care of it. If you get a pet, you have to step up and do the right thing.

Visit the humane society and save a life. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, shots, and health checks.
