we are thinking of getting one but we arent sure if they shed

All dogs shed and since you are getting a mixed breed it could shed lots no way of being sure. You are better off getting a pure bred Maltese. Why spend hundreds dollars on a mix if you do not care about your dog being a pure bred why not go to your local pound or shelter and adopt a dog/puppy. There are all sizes, mixes and ages at the pounds and shelters. They come already spayed/neutered and the dog will already have received shots and best of all they do not cost hundreds of dollars.

Mine doesn't, it's a beautiful Maltese / Shi Tzu, and yes all dogs shed, however I happen to have one that doesn't at all, and I am so thankful, my pup is something else, obedient, loving, smart, likeable, quiet, and just the best pet I've ever had.

Why did someone take two beautiful breeds and mix them? What a shame. Don't pay money for mixed breeds. They are still mutts.Go to your local shelter and adopt a mutt.

The only non-shedding dog is a stuffed animal.
