there's no such thing as a tiny, teacup or toy yorkie. Yorkies only come in one size. AKC standard says "must not exceed 7 pounds" "tiny" "teacup" and "toy" are labels used by back yard breeders and puppy mills for the unhealthy runts. I would RUN from anyone who uses these labels on their dogs.. they are breeding unhealthy dogs and selling them for highprices. Sometimes they just use those labels to insinuate that the dog will be small.. some use larger females with small males to avoid the cost of a cecarian. Notice, none of them place a 100% guarantee on the adult size of the puppy!! Sometimes the pup ends up being over the standard of 7 pounds!!! There are plenty of Yorkies in rescue that need homes. Or find a reputable breeder who is showing and doing genetic health tests. You have a better chance at getting a healthy dog if you do your homework and find a good breeder. People get so wrapped up in finding the tiniest dog.. 7 pounds is already small!!!

teacups are smaller and only bred by irresponsible people. The incredibly small size of these dogs is against the written breed standard agreed upon by the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America and is responsible for numerous health problems. Buy a proper sized dog from a good breeder.

'Teacup' has no officially recognized meaning; it's a buzzword used by breeders who try to create toy breed dogs even smaller than usual, so as to get more money out of gullible buyers. Nothing like paying *extra* for a dog which is even more frail and genetically defective than before...

a teacup is smaller than a toy, but while the teacups are "in" they usually have more health problems such as joint problems. i had a teacup poodle and i loved her to death, but she had so many health problems.
