Control Puppy Chewing
It's always best if you catch your puppy chewing on something that he shouldn't to redirect his behavior by giving him a chew toy instead. However, if you're looking for a product that is safe and effective, get a bitter apple spray. You can find it a most major pet retail locations. Simply spray it on as a deterrent. You puppy won't like the taste and will avoid chewing that location. And the best part is that it won't damage your wood furniture.-

First things first, why is he chewing? Does he do it when he is alone, when you're on the phone? Just like a kid, if you give him interest in something else it will distract him from the first activity. If this is happening when you are not home, and you have not crate trained him, START NOW! In the long run, a crate trained dog will pay off and give him a safe place to go.
If all else fails, a cayanne pepper paste (home made) or commercial products available at local pet stores.
You need to figure out why he is doing the behavior and correct that, which will correct the chewing. The Monks of New Skete have some great books out (they breed some of the best German Shephards in the world) "The Art of Raising A Puppy" and "How To Be Your Dog's Best Friend". Good Luck!

Hello! Get your puppy a chew toy and play little games with it. When the puppy wins the game, or when the puppy was attempting to bite furniture but stopped, reward it with a pat or a treat. Hope I helped, good luck!!

Go to your pet supply or your vet and ask for the product designed for applying onto anything you do not want chewed. I know it exists because the breeder we bought our puppy from uses it. She says it works great. Sorry - I wish I knew the name of the product, but I don't

You can try spraying the item with bitter apple spray. Makes it taste yucky to the dog and hopefully he will leave the stuff alone.
