WHO OWNS A DOBERMAN!, or loves them look here!!?

Question

if you love dobes, like i do, own a dobe like me. tell me why and what you love about them. what kind they are and everything!

i'll start out first.

I resuced my Doberman from an animal shelter here where i live, and when i got him he was 11 months old, and he was days away from being euthanized bc people thought he was too big, and he would be a bad dog. but he is the best protctive dobe i have ever had!! he sitting right now by my feet in front of the fire place. He is black and tan, weighs 110 pounds, and 2 and a half feet tall.

lol sorry im bored, but i do want to more about other peoples dobes! the are awsome bc they proven to be the most protective, obedeint, intelligent, and most althetic dog ever!. and if ppl have a problem, leave a stupid answer. i dont care, my dog can still kick your *** ;] lol

I dont have one... YET! I dont have the space or the money for one, but as soon as I do Im gonna get a male.

I love them because they are soooooooooooo affectionate!!!! The term "velcro dog" really fits them. I think it sad they have such a bad rap, Because I have NEVER seen a more LOYAL breed in my entire life!

I love the Protective instinct. It seems to be perfectly balanced. You can trust them with your kid, friends, family, even those you just met and they will be fine, but if they ever even TRY to hurt you, BAM, your dobie is on it! And they can be QUITE convincing!!! After all, they are the ONLY breed specificly bred for personal protection.

They are also very very intelligent. They can be trained to do ANYTHING. I even know a guy, that attended hunting field trials with his 2 dobermans, AND placed toward the top often. They are great Therapy Dogs, Schutzhund, hearding (believe it or not), Search and rescue and more! They are also the BEST at companionship. (But they need a job to do or they can get bored or aggressive, Sorry, had to add that for others who might read this!)

I also love thier attitude. This is where the OWNER usually gets in trouble. Alot of people dont realize that if you dont take ABSOLUTE control over your dobe, then your dobe will control you. They have to know that YOU are in charge, period. I love that strong personality. BUT, I can handle it also. Every dog I have ever had KNEW I was in charge.

Your dogs sounds absolutly FANTASTIC, have a great life with him and give him a great big kiss for me (I cant believe some one would just drop him off like that! oh, well you and your dog came out ahead on that one!)

I don't hate dobermans, but I remember them chasing me for a lunch special. I crossed the street from my house going to my friends house. The dogs(3) got territorial, and I was only 11 years old. I ran knowing they would kill me, and a literally made on time to my front door slamming it onto them. I never hurt them, but they saw me like food.
