Control Puppy Chewing
It's always best if you catch your puppy chewing on something that he shouldn't to redirect his behavior by giving him a chew toy instead. However, if you're looking for a product that is safe and effective, get a bitter apple spray. You can find it a most major pet retail locations. Simply spray it on as a deterrent. You puppy won't like the taste and will avoid chewing that location. And the best part is that it won't damage your wood furniture-

perhaps its the type of toy thats the problem. My dog loves toys that sqweak, she'll always go to those first. But if the problem is that she chews on other things, i agree with the other poster, best to catch them in the act and give them something they can chew on. You'll never stop their desire to chew, but you can help them chew on the right things.

i had that problem also when i got my pup. They just learn to love them!! Maui wouldn't touch his toys when we first got them but now he entertains himself for hours! get him something he can chew on safely and he'll be the happiest puppy ever. Just keep introducing it to him so he knows it's ok to chew on it.

I know it sounds hateful, but when we took our 3 dogs to obedience school we were told that if they chewed on something we did not approve of, we gagged them. Don't make him/her throw up. Just enough to make him/her gag. I will tell you... you won't have to do it more than 3 times.

always offer play time with him/her with it's own toys. He/she will catch on quick enough
