I got 6 gold fishes from a party and now their is only one left and I want to let him stay for a long time. how do I do it ( he is 1 month old)

I have asked a few questiogn abotu my aquarium. I set up a 5 gallon aquarium since my 40 gallon aquarium has seem to be on the fritz.. I have a full grown black moor (i dont know if he;s full grown but he's about 7 inches long) and 3 african dwarf frgos (they seem to do fine int he water. i have had them for over a year) and a smaller goldfish. my blackmoor is very friendly and non territorial.

but i set up my 5 gallon aquarium yesterday with a proper fileter and ait stones. (the 40 gallon aquarium has all this too)

but my question is. i know i have to let the 5 gallon aquarium cycle for 4 to 6 weeks. some people are telling me to add in a hardy fish and others are talling me to not put anythign in it till the 4 to 6 weeks are up? what to do?

shoudl i put in my smaller goldfsh in there to start the cycle or what?

I realize that some people might find that is a waste of time to go to school to become a veterinary assistant, because many places will train you. But, I signed up for classes about 2 months ago. I wanted to know all the technical stuff before I started doing it. I'm doing it online at home, so I don't really have anyone to ask these questions to.

My questions is. I can't decide where I'd like to get a job, once I finish school. I'm thinking a small animal clinic, but I'm not sure how much I can handle having to assist with putting animals to sleep. I love the idea of working in a zoo, but I'm not really sure if they hire assistants or if you have to be a technician. A shelter... do they actually pay you or do most people just volunteer their time? Can anyone that is a vet assistant give me some hints on what exactly I would be doing in a small animal clinic? The ups and downs and is there room for advancement?

I love the honesty...but i'm kinda disappointed...where are all those who might have said.."de-claw"? I have a 13 month old beagle and a 4 month old heeler. I want to train them to walk together on a leash. The heeler always wants to stay by my side but the beagle wants to runs ahead and sniff (he gets very distracted on walks). How can I train them to walk together on a leash?

I saw a dead bird the other day, it had been killed by a cat, and this question sprang into my head. Where do all the dead birds go? I have never seen a dead bird fall out of the sky, and I have never seen a dead bird perched in a tree. So where are all the dead birdy bodies? I thought that they went out to sea to die, but that is just Seagulls, and then I thought that maybe cats eat them, but there would be way too many dead birds for cats to eat. Help!!! I really want to know!!!

My 2 month old beagle ate a Syberian Huskys dinner (not all of it) but probably 4 times what he normally gets for dinner. I am worried sick! The vet is not answering his phone and I need to wait till tommorrow morning to take him. The puppy seems to be doing fine, he's just sleeping a lot but he is gagging, and breathing quite fast every so often like trying to vomit, plus his belly got HUGE. Please help, I love my puppy and I want to know WHAT TO DO and if he's going to be okay

hi,i have a beautiful female white cat,shes 4 and i had her since she was very very little.i really "raised" her.i never had such a special feeling with an animal like this.she loves only me and she s very affectionate with me.all the time when i really dedicate time to her (often) and i pet her after a little bit she walks away to see if the dogs are too close then come back then "spy" if she sees them and them when she goes ,she attacks them(not bad though she doesnt scratch them )and she comes back to me to be pet more but its so funny i loveeeee her.why do u think she does that?shes jealous?or she thinks she has to protect me?im convinced she thinks im her mom.thank you

hello my name is candice and i traveled to los angeles to get a dog i had saw online he is a chihuahua/terrier mix.i got him from an carson animal shelter,shortly after arriving home he seems to be sneezing and coughing tons.i am not sure what to do as i have never had this happen to me.i am very concerned about how fatal this kennel cough is,i mean his heartbeat seems to be fine i checked it but his respirations are short and each time he and i love the little guy already so much.does anyone know if this is fatal or not,i am very scared please let me know???whats the best thing to do i cant get a app till next thursday and that is a whole week,any ideas???

I just wanted information from someone who has owned both breeds. I have three miniature dachshunds, two females (ages 2 and 5) and a male (age 10 months). I am going to get a yorkie girl this weekend and have heard all kinds of horror stories about them, which has me worried. I have done my book research and realize although yorkies have common terrier traits each one has different personalities. The yorkie girl I am getting is on the calm side. I am just wondering if raising a yorkie is any less or more difficult/easy than a dachshund and what major differences should I expect.

Here's my schedule for my pups~6:30am Feed Shaddie&Jeeper then@6:45am let them go outside to use the bathroom then usually i have to leave at 6:50am for school i'm going to have to get my parents to follow the schedule to so that way at 7:30am they can let the 2 back inside then at 12:00pm feed them again then let outside till 1:00pm then when i get back from school which i get out at 2:30pm i get home around 3:10pm i can give them both a walk at 3:30pm then its play time then@5:00 they eat then@5:15pm go outside till 6:00 i can put them back in their crates around 10:30pm&that would be for Monday through Friday then on the weekends i would feed Shaddie and Jeeper at 6:30am let them outside@6:45am then@7:30am let them back inside then@10:00am i can give them both a walk then@12:00pm they eat then go outside till 1:00pm come back inside then@3:00pm go for walk then after walk its play time then@5:00pm they eat then go outside@5:15 then come in@6:00 more play time then go in crate@11:30

I need some help or advice. Im at my wits end with my kitten. She is 8 months old now. I have two other cats; one is 6 years old and the other one is almost two years old. The two year old was in heat a few weeks ago but now she is fine. then the kitten decided it was her turn to go in heat or at least I think she was in heat because of her moaning and carrying on. well she is okay now except that now she likes to pee on my bed and my sofa and I dont know why or how to stop this. I dont know if it is her way of showing the other two that I am her territory or what is wrong. I love her so much but this has to stop. Help please.

I just bought a Beta fish last week. I put him in a gallon glass fish bowl with aquarium gravel and some fake plants. I used Jungle brand Start Right with Allanton water conditioner before I put him in. I'm feeding him Bettamin Tropical Medley Betta food. The problem is the water gets cloudy and has a VERY foul smell the next day after cleaning the bowl, and the fish won't eat his food. What should I do??? I don't know if the fish is sick or I'm doing something wrong.

The names I picked seem retarded *winifred and mave, both symbolic* and my dad, namer of ever animal to come into my life, picked an even worse name *michu, pronounced like a scottsman talking about his shoe* and what I've been reffering to her as just doesn't fit a papillon at all. Serious, can you see a gorgeous tri-color pap coming to the call of "Here Booboo, come here Booboo?" Neither can I. Works fine now, but here in 6months it just won't fit, and I need something to put on her tag NOW.

I want something kinda themed, but not blatantly. That means a French or Spanish name, and I have a thing for unisex names. Thanks for any suggestions, and I swear I'm not a mindless dribble of a person that can't even come up with a name. I just come off that way occasionally.
