My dog bites and chews everything. Sometimes I have to leave for a couple of hours and I have to put her in the kitchen so she doesn't chew on stuff. I want her to be able to be in the living room where she likes to be but, she tears up everything she can get her teeth on. I wanted to get her a muzzle but, I don't know what is the maximum time she could be in a muzzle. Does someone know? I don't want doglovers to criticize me so if your going to put a mean answer don't even bother....thanks. :)

My dachshund loves to eat wood. So far she has chewed the trim around the door, the window frames, the chair leg, and practically eaten my head/foot boards on the bed. I have tried spraying some nasty smelling stuff I bought at the pet store on the furniture, but she happily chews right thru it. I just got married and my hubby is moving a VERY expensive wood bedroom suite in, and I'm afraid I'm going to have to move her out. Has anyone found anything that helps? She also chews holes in her blanket, my bras, or anything else she can snitch from me. When it first started, I thought it was a puppy stage, but she is now 2 1/2 yrs old. She gets bones to chew on and toys to play with, so I am at a loss. Help!

A bunny, or a turtle? My friend wants to get a pet that is easy to take care of, but still a joy to own.

man I have no idear where you people are from when you answer all these dogs questions but where am from there are no dogs left in these shelters with no place to call home! We have 2 pet stores that rarely carry dogs because there isn't any out there to give away because people always give them a home before they even get to give them to pet stores. I know there probably is a lot of dogs out there to give away to a good home but not around here plus am not going to get a dog that I can't see first flown to my house for me to keep. How do I know what there attitudes are like.
why would I want them around a little child when I don't know there attitudes.
yup I confess I don't know much about breeding dogs but at least I know mine have both been to the vet to be checked out for diseases and such and I know they both have good attitudes for when I have my child! So why would I want a dog that I don't know much about?

I have a lot of small brown, thin anemones in my reef tank. They are an annoyance and sting my delicate inverts. Anyone know of a good way to remove them? Is there something that will eat them?

my family and i are having a debate on whether we should get a large dog or small dog.
we are considering border collies for big and boston terriers for small dog.
i have 3 sisters and 2 little brothers, 3 and 6.
they are energetic and need a dog that can tolerate them.
my mom is all in for the boston terrier because
1.) they shed less
2.) they are less expensive to take care of.
i really need help!
i am really partial to the big dog.
and also...
do you see a lot of big families with small dogs?
i dont really.
i see a lot of large families with big dogs, do you?
i know big dogs might be less expensive,
but does it matter if the dog you want is the love of your life?
please help!
thanx!

Is a cat always happy when it purrs? Yes, cats are normally happy when they purr, right? But can/do they purr when they are uncomfortable or mad, too?

I have an Alaskan Malamute. This was the first time I tried trimming his nails, and WHAM-), on the 3rd nail, i cut it too short. Poor guy bled for about ten mins. I tried holding a towel to the cut nail, but that doesn't work with a 100 lb dog who is hurt. I ended up with blood all over my carpet, in three different rooms!!!

What is your best toenail cutting advice, other than groomer?

based on the sounds that she makes and how hard it is to wake her up i am assuming they are hellish and extremly vivid... often shakes while still having the nightmare and is usually a little disorientated after awaking.

Our basset hound puppies are 5 weeks old today. They will be going to their new homes in about 3 weeks. My question is this. How much socialization should they be getting? I want them to be very well socialized before they go to their new homes. Here is a picture of where they are sleeping and playing.

It's a six sided gate, with a big sheet of linoleum under it. I have newspaper on one side and a blanket on the other side. It's working out really well, because they are learning to use the paper to potty. And of course, they have lots of stuffed animals and other toys to play with.

My children, husband and I go in the bedroom with them constantly throughout the day and usually pick one or two of them up for snuggle time. Also, I let them out of the gate for about an hour each day and I sit on the floor and play with them. Their mom still nurses them about 3 times a day. Do you think they are getting enough in terms of being socialized?
Thanks

Hello again!

EVERYTIME i add in new fish to my 40 gallon aquarium they always die after 2 weeks. I have a 40 gallon aquarium with one full grown black moor goldfish in it. and an african dwarf frog. everytime i ad in new fish the aquarium seems to get extremely dirty and they new fish die. I have the appropriate sized filer and air pumps for my aquarium. but i just added in 2 more goldfish 2 weeks ago and 3 more african dwarf frogs. one of the goldfish dies last night and the other one seems liek hes abotu to die =(

I took a smaple of my water to the paet store and they tested it for everything (phosphate and nitrate levels) abd they were all normla. I did a 25% water change and added the appropriate medications to make the water safe for the fish.. (i usually do the recommended 25% water change every 2 weeks)

why does every new fish i add into the aquarium die on me! all of the frogs and the full grown black moor are still doing fine.i dont understand!

I'm international student studying in the UK. I had lots of cats back at home. thus I've recently decided to rise a ketten but I want to know several things such as the cost of vaccinations and so on. in addition, I'd like being provided with any useful advice regarding all responsibilities that I might encounter with.

I have 2 pomeranians at my house right now and this is the 4th day into the females heat since she has had her period. The dogs are after each other and the female wants him but he can only himp her leg or tail. she is shorter then him but the vet said they should still be able to do it! can anyone give me some advice? does it sometimes take days before they will do anything?
If you need to leave the house is there any ways of knowing if they did anything?
I am new at this and the only reason am breeding my pom is because my friends really want one, so they all have homes to go too after she has them!
I would be happy with any advice people could tell me on how this happens mostly how long does it sometimes take?
