Puggles are very intelligent and shouldn't be to much trouble to train. I am not sure if you are referring to bathroom training or tricks. In either event the key is to be focused and consistent. Dogs respond greatly to consistency. If you are training your puggle to go to the bathroom outside it is crucial that you bring him out for frequent bathroom breaks and when he goes, reward him (Treats and or Lots of Praise!). If he goes in the house yell a little, use a spray bottle or flick the nose. If you catch him in the act immediately move him outside even if he is done going. This still enforces the idea of going outside with going the bathroom. Eventually you Puggle will learn to go outside and that's when you can really get creative. I set up a buzzer for my dog to hit if he needs to go outside.

All tricks and training are learned on those same principles. If you are patient and stick with one thing at a time you will be amazed at how intelligent the Puggle is.

Littlehuevo,

Congratulations on your new family member!

My Puggle is a year and a half old, he has been a little tough to train but he was very food motivated.

Definetly get your new baby into a dog training class as soon as possible, it is good to start training young and it is also important so that they will learn to socialize with other dogs.

My best advice for training would be

1.) Patience - Your puppy is just like a small child, he or she may not learn it all quickly so stay patient as you train. Try not to get frustrated, if you find yourself getting frustrated take a break and a breath and then try again.

2.) Practice - Your baby is only going to get better if you practice every day, I am guilty of this I don't do it as much as I should but if you can devote 15 minutes a day towards practicing what you learned in your obiedience class you will see a very noteable difference at your next class.

3.) End on a good note - When practicing what you learned always end your training on a good command that your dog knows well. Praise them with a lot of positive re-enforcement like a happy voice with good words and some treats.

Hope this helps,
Jenn

Your dog will probably be very food motivated from its pug genes. I would suggest taking it to a puppy preschool class. This will teach them basic skills like sit, come, stay and will start them with proper socialization.

They will tell you to train by positive reinforcement and never to hit your dog. You may also want to look into clicker training.

2.be really gentle to your dog.
