Put them together.
Being livebearers, guppies are probably the easiest fish in the world to breed. Just put 1 male and 2 females together in a 5 to 10 gallon tank, keep the water warm (78F), feed them a good quality flake food, and they will produce babies for you every 21 to 30 days.
If you want to raise the babies, you will need lots of plants in the aquarium so the babies are not eaten by the parents, and a separate growout tank for babies, like 20 gallons.

If you are just wanting a lot of guppies start with a heavily planted 30 gallon (low) tank, cycled carefully. Add two trios (2 males and 4 females),keep the temps around 74 degrees F. Maintain high water quality for good growth rates and disease prevention, and let the parents do the culling. If show fish are what you want, buy a whole bunch of 5 to 10 gallon tanks,(to keep the sexes separated until you can tell which fish are show quality). When you have selected your breeding stock get rid of all the rest and begin the process anew. Repeat until you start to win shows, then start serious breeding to cash in on all of that hard work. Oh yeah, have a lot of fun too. Good luck, PeeTee

peetee, that is way too much information just to breed guppies, in my opinion. In my fish tank that i've had for years, my guppies have multiplied to its limit. All I have is WATER and a cheap FILTER. screw heaters because guppies will always breed despite drastic temperatures. guppies will breed under the conditions many will find appalling.

It's pretty simple....... my Dad has some in his tank, in fact they're the only species in there nowadays. Can't remember when last bought new fish, was that long ago.
All you really have to do is stick a load of 'em in the tank, make sure the water is to their liking (Temperature + Ph levels, etc), remember to feed them a pinch of TETRAMIN fish flakes everyday, and just leave 'em to it, and they'll breed worse than Rabbits.

Put them together they know what to do. Put a artificial spiny plant in the tank for the babies so the adults don't eat them

You are kidding, right?? You get 2 or 3 and put them in the tank and let them go! You will have babies in no time, and again and again and again!
