I would also say a turtle would be a little easier. A rabbit will poop and urinate in it's cage and the urine really stinks after a very short period of time. Their cage must be cleaned every other day and I would even opt for every day. If a rabbit is not held often it becomes skittish and scared and may scratch or bite so daily handling is also needed. Rabbits need to constantly chew so must be provided with pieces of wood to gnaw on to keep their teeth from over growing, their nails also have to be clipped to avoid overgrowing. Due to their long ears they are prone to ear infections so care must be taken and ears must be cleaned often.
A turtle depending on the species of course, is very little maintenance but will require a large tank. If it is a water turtle the care gets even easier as you can get a filter on the tank to take care of most feces and you can even house fish in the same tank, just make sure they are fast fish so they don't end up as food. They make turtle pellets that are complete diets so feeding couldn't be easier.
If cute and cuddly is not your main concern but ease of care is then the turtle wins hands down.

I've never owned a turtle but do own a rabbit. He is moderate in maintenance...nothing like owning a dog...but he requires more maintenance than i thought he would....and you must watch a rabbit when they are out of their cage like a toddler....they will get into everything if its accessible. it is important to "bunny proof" your home or the area where the bunny will have access.
My rabbit is not very affectionate...he would prefer not to be touched at all and rarely will come to sit in my lap...but he will follow me around and will lay next to my feet when i am on the couch. He does poo a lot but now that he is nearing the end of his teenage period the poops aren't nearly as bad. but he still drops territorial droppings...especially now that i have a new puppy. the poops are very small hard little things...no smell to them....unless he is trying to make a point; then he lets out these little stink bombs....they are kind of musky smelling...not what you would expect from a turd. lol......
If you get a rabbit, know that it is recommended that they get about 3 hours of activity a day...meaning you need to be at home so that you can supervise your little bun so they can get some exercise...but they are fun to watch. and you will also need to have him/her neutered or spayed. I am not sure if that's necessary with a turtle. Neutering a rabbit in the Southeast costs about $110.

Bunnies, by far, but they still take a lot of time to care for, but you never have to worry about a bunnies water needing changed, and if it is kept outside you can elevate your cage in order to let the droppings fall through, and they are great to use in your compost pile or garden. I have had rabbits, and just got a turtle a couple months ago, the bunny was a lot less time-consuming, and doesn't mind being held, whereas a turtle is better off the least it is handled. I think the bunny would be the better companion.

Turtle, no contest. Turtles are quiet and fairly clean. hen you change the tank you can just put them down and let them walk around. Bunnies are super messy and can make annoying noises sometimes that can keep you up. Also bunnies have fur so every once and a while they need a bath. If your turtle gets dirty all you need is a wet paper towel.

I would say a turtle, a bunny could hop away, they are fast, but i don't see a turtle getting very far very fast. And a turtle will mostly stay in his aquarium while a bunny likes to get out and move around. Turtles are sooo cute to.

Turtles don't need much care. Well, they do but bunnies need more care. But turtles are boring pets and bunnies are fun to have around!

Um I would say a bunny, but either way you look at it neither one is that low of maintenence. Since usually it'd be a good idea to take you're new pet to the vet make sure everything is ok with it so in the long run you don't find out something is wrong with it.

Bunnies crave and need attention and affection. You can't just put them in a terrarium and forget about them except to throw some food in once a day. Their pee is pretty stinky, so their cage needs to be cleaned very often. They need exercize, so if you take them outside, you need to either have them on a leash, or keep them inside a pen where they can't run away and where a predator like a dog or large hawk can't get at them. If you let them run around inside the house, you must tape up all cords because they love to chew.
I think turtles are messy and gross because of changing the water, but they don't really need you to talk to them or play with them, as long as they have water, stones and enough room to move around.
